I know - not many people knew that my sister was even pregnant.
She had a baby girl named Payton Marie, weighing 6lbs 9 oz and 19 inches long.
Payton was due on 9/11, then 9/13. Last night they ended up inducing labor and my sister just had her less than 3 hours ago.
Just wanted to share the news.

Congrats, JD. Now you get to swipe her in all her 'good' phases, and spoil her rotten - as only a good uncle can do! *Many a fond memory of zoo visits....*

Gosh, I wonder when I'll be an uncle. It's usually a cousin who has kids. Me and my 2 kid brothers are a bit taking our time.
Congrats, JD. You'd probably be a fun uncle to be with. Are you in line to be a godfather? (I think it might not be much to someone who's not into the religion thing but it's a great honor to be chosen to care for someone's else's kid)

I wish my sister lived closer. Since she lives in Tennessee I don't get to see her much. It is closer than when she lived in California though. Oh well - when Payton gets older hopefully she'll be into roller coasters. :)

Thanks for the compliment. I don't think I'm in line to be godfather though. :( I didn't really think about it, although it would be cool. My sister knows my feelings on religion and her husband is somewhat religious I think. I can just spoil her anyway.
Thanks Elenka.

Well, at least you don't have the pressure, though. I wonder how your niece will be nicknamed. Payton sounds like a great name. Not too common and very dignified.
