Sheepshead, Cribbage, A**hole, Blackjack, Poker. In that order.

To ArwenEvenstar: I play Magic the Gathering, too, so I guess it does count. You play the game with cards, right? They may a little different from cards used for poker & whatnot, but they're still cards.

lol, I have nothing better to do right now so why not?

Just going to explain spoons, though: it's a cool game for 3+ people, you give each person four cards and put one less than the number of people of spoons on a table. The person that is dealing takes a card from the deck, and if they don't need it (your trying to get a set of four) they pass it to the next person. If they do decide they need it, they discard one of their other cards and give it to the next person instead, who does the same with their cards, and when it reaches the last person they put the card(s) in a discard pile. When someone DOES get four of a kind, they try to quitely take one of the spoons that are on the table, so that the others don't notice. When the other players notice (individually) that a spoon is missing (or that someone is taking a spoon), they take a spoon as well, and the person left without a spoon is the loser.

I bet that made absolutely no sense, oh well... good luck.

Adding on to Menelvagor's explanation of spoons, usually the loser has to eat a spoonful of whatever the others choose. Lots of time we mix all kinds of things together, it's ton's of fun to see the reaction on the person's face! (They don't know what they're eating by the way. ;) )

Just learnt euchre, seems like a slicker version of the best card game of all: bridge

Okay, you take a few decks of cards (w/ different backs) and take out the face cards. Everyone has there own deck. You have a ten card blitz pile (face up, I think) and four cards set out face up in front of you. When the game starts, you start going through the remainder of the deck looking at every third card. If you get an ace, you put it out in the middle, then if you or someone else gets a two of the same suit, they can put it out on the ace etc etc. (You can use the cards in front of you and the cards in your blitz pile. When you use one of the four cards in front of you, you can replace it w/ a card from your blitz pile) The object is to get rid of your blitz pile, and when you do, you yell blitz and the game is over. You separate the cards in the middle back into their decks, and each person gets a point for every card they have out there. Then you subtract two points for every card left in your blitz pile and the person w/ the highest score wins. I hope that makes sense...:)

You lost me when I saw how long it was and knew it was a hard game, I read it though and I just got more confused:confused: Now I know why you didn't want to explain it.

I never got to post here but wanted to, so here I am.:)
We played spoons when I was a kid but it was called pig and we put our finger next to our nose instead of having spoons. When i was older we played actual spoons as a drinking game (not a good idea for lightweights:o ). We also played Killer when I was young.
I love Spades, Seven-card no-peek, a Finnish game called Raystee Seyska (I know that's spelled wrong, but that's how it's pronounced), and a very complicated Uno-like game called Mao (which we often played as a drinking game, or just played when we were drinking, which made it get very cutthroat).

Dice games: Rochester or three-man, anyone? I actually never got the full hang of these, again their being complicated drinking games, or at least that's how my friends played them.

Oh, yeah, and we played B.S. when I was young, but it was called I Doubt It. And we also played a game called Knock Your Neighbor.
