sil editions

Does anyone know if there were any descrepencies between the different versions (printed copies) of the sil?

If so which version would u recommend?

I have the 1977 edition of the Silmarillion, which I think is a pretty good copy, but I've heard that a later version contains more that Tolkien revised.

To what edition you should get, I'm not sure, but a later edition seems like the one to go for. :)

Mine is 1998 HarperCollins hardcover, lovely illustrated by Ted Nasmith. I haven't found any remarks on changes from earlier editions.
