Have they started the filming of Minas Tirith and the Battle of Pellanor Fields? If so is it mostly CG or did they build a set? I don't remember hearing anything about it. If they haven't do you think they should make an actual mountain city or make it CG? I was just wondering.

Date => Place => what they're filming

Aug 00 => Methven => Battle of Pelennor Fields
Nov 00 => Dry Creek Quarry => Minas Tirith

So, they'll be filming that great battle soon and the site for Minas Tirith is Dry Creek Quarry, if anybody knows if there's a mountain there... tell us!

Hey thanks Shanimir. Well if anyone lives in NZ and can get pictures or descriptions of these places please do!

Supposedly no battle scenes are being filmed this month. Where did you get this information? I'm not disputing what you're saying, just curious.

Their "outdoor battle scenes??" entry looks very iffy to me. I'm trying to remember if I've read anything about battle scenes which hasn't been retracted, but dang me if I can think of any. Of course, with up to four film crews working at a time, it's a wonder anyone can keep up with what they are doing.

Well, at least, I hope the Minas Tirith shooting is in november. We'd need our own NZ spy here! :p
