I think that the Eurovision this year was the worse I saw. lots of countries chited and the songs weren't so good.
I think that our (Israel) song was a very good one and the fact that 15 countries from all the 24 didn't gave us even one point show something. It shows that a big part of the Europans don't like Israel.

Radagast! Eorovision isnt a poularity contest! i dont watch it without failure, i watched the results but just because you didnt get points, doesnt mean they dont like israel!!!:D There are 24 countries and like, 10points award from each country. that means 14 countries are going to get nothing whatever happens!

Eurovision is a European song competition. About 20 European countries can send one band or singer to it. Each countries has a jury that gives points. The winner hosts the Eurosong competition the following year. The five countries that end up lasts might not be allowed to participate the next year. The original intent was to let the BEST song win. But most countries are more likely to give neighbours points. I wouldn't base the conclusion whether Europe likes my country on THIS contest. If so we're loathed ;)

I didn't think much of the winning song this year. It relied more on the act than on the song. Our song wasn't that bad either (but then I'm biased  ) We didn't get much points either. But then, we never do. I once checked how Belgium did since the beginning of the Eurosong. We won only once and ended up in the last 10 ever since. :)

i love eurovision!
and strawberry-it IS a popularity contest. everyone votes for their neighbours. its common fact. thats why we hardly do very well because we're an island.
radagast- i loved israel's entry! it was the one about the candles right? if it is then my friend gg and i have been singing it ever since!
i personally wanted Malta to win and they were very close but alas it was not ment to be:(
and a big well done to Jessica! she was great despite being attacked by a tiger moments before going on stage.

Not a Yank in the American sense of the word. A Yank in the British sense meaning "American.":D I'm from the Heart of Dixie and proud of it!

*cranks up Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Sweet Home Alabama'*

I have to say the best Eurovision song ever was "Waterloo".
