Any other fans of dc Talk here on Entmoot?
I think they rock.
My favourite song of all time is Jesus Freak by dc Talk.

That was my favourite tune, about 5 years ago, for about half a week.

DC Talk is a great band. I was just talking about them in the Christian Music thread.

I was really obsessed with them for awhile. I especially like "Red Letters" and "Consume Me" from the Supernatural album.

Hey, this very well may be entmoot's 100,000 post...yay me!

I have something interesting about about DCtalk....

I was looking for help in my book, and I was told that someone called " the colonel" could help me.he was supposedly busy most o0f the time, but I was told he probably reply to my message cause it was something actually useful that I wanted.
So I contacted him,and sometime later he replied with this ( my name there is sevel,so you know):

"sevel all i can say is write to your heart's content....and don't let the loser's tell you what to do...remmeber Tolkien created the geography, language and family charts of the all the characters before he began to write LOTR....that will be heard to beat......the COLONEL IS TRYING.....it is called. PASSAGE THROUGH HEAVEN"

I was thankful for the encouragement.

Later I found out that the colonel was actually one of the members of DCtalk!!!
He had read about my book and gave me encouragement.

How cool is that?!!!!!!

I meant that they are getting back together. T-Mac has an LP(Momentum) and a Christmas EP, K-Max has got one album and another coming out and Tait has got one album out. They recently recorded a song called "Let's Roll" as a group. What I heard is that they never actually broke up, they just went solo for awhile.

Yeh, DCTalk is one of my favorite bands. I saw them in concert once, and it was great. Alot of people give me a hard time about having so many of their CDs because their a Christian Band, but as far as I dont really care, Im not ashamed of listening to christian music.

Correct. They did not split out of anger. They just wanted to try different styles that they liked. TobyMac wanted to go back to rap, Kevin Max wanted to do pop (I hate pop!!!), Michael wanted to do some rock... Its hard to do all that together.

Christian pop, rock and rap or just plain pop, rock and rap?

didn't Sonic Flood break up?

In a way... All the members left except the Bassist, and then he left and some new guys took over the band(or at least that's what I heard)

Hmm, saw DCTalk in concert one time, years ago. Think they were opening with Michael W. Smith. Rap is not my thing so I wasn't all that interested (tho they are quite competent musically, I must admit.)

I went to see DCtalk at a sort of Christian convention thing in Boise Idaho a couple of years ago. It was ok I guess. DCTalk were the guest singers there for the second day and they sang from like 3:00 pm till dark. I'm not a big fan of Christian conventions...too many people, highway robbery, and the general outdoor concert feeling...makes me feel uncomforatable, but it was cool to see DCTalk there. 4him was there too.
I like their "Jesus Freak", "My Will", "If We'd All Been Ready", and I forget what it's called but it starts out with "I am the king of excuses, I've got one for every selfish thing I do", and "What if I Stumble". I dont know the titles to them so bear with me.
Cheers,
Sam
