last sunday i downloaded the large MPEG version of the preview as a "present" for the birthday of a friend who hadn't seen it yet (it took me one hour!). First i must say that now i'm even more impressed by the trailer since i hadn't seen it with so much detail. wanna seen that movie now!!!

okay. i showed the preview to my friend and to another 11 friends. the group, i think, was quite various: some of them were "true fans" of Tolkien, most had read LOTR (and even TH and Sil.) and liked them but have been "out of Tolkien" for years, and only two hadn't read the books because "they cannot get into fantasy": they coudn't pass farther than 50 pages...

well, ALL of them were impressed by the trailer and thought that those will be very good must-to-see films :) Only the two "skeptics" coudn't understand why were we looking forward to them since they're not coming till December 2001 <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">

but the best of all is that those who had been out of Tolkien are now mad for news about those movies and what is even better: all of them are saying they're gonna read LOTR again before the movies come.

if only all Tolkien readers read again the books in this year i'll have these films for good :)

cool
I'm rereading LOTR now. I'd fogotten how cool it is. The Fellowship of the Ring is all homey and hobbit-like, the Two Towers is interesting but not as much fun as the Return of the King (which is kinda hard-out but still cool)
how could I have put those down?
also, just for interest, I'm trying to contact a friend of mine who's working as an orc in the movie to get some inside info. The NZ army are serving at extras in the movie, playing orcs and such. I also know a guy on the camera crew but don't know how to contact him.
oh well
