i remember way back when i first joined the moot a thread on wot the title the 2 towers meant. while when fliping through FOTR i was at the back and while i was there i found this:
The second part is called The Two Towers, since the events recounted in it are dominated by Orthanc, the citadel of Saruman, and the fortress of Minas Morgul that guards the secret entrance to Mordor;....
I remember in the other thread that no one knew while it was in the back of FOTR all along.

I didn't know it is. Actually I thought that the Two Towers were The Orthanc and Minas Tirit.

It's not that simple. Even Tolkien wasn't sure about which 2 towers he was referring to. And yes, somebody DID figure out that reference in the back of ROTK.

She said that it's on the back of FOTR, not ROTK. Maybe it's in the both of them? never mind, I'll check.
If Tolkien didn't knew what towers he meant to write on, this is strange... I think he meant to Minas Tirit and Orthanc because the story is on them in the two towers.

Ah crap. No. I meant the fellowship. Just got my acronyms muddled up.
And yeah, Minas Tirith & Orthanc WOULD make more sense. I guess Tolkien was just ambivalent towards 'em.

The thread you refer to is here (http://www.tolkientrail.com/entmoot/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2621). Next time I suggest you search or browse around for threads instead of starting a new thread.
