This has to be my favourite pop band.
Does anyone else like them?
What are your favourite ABBA songs?
Mine would have to be The Winner Takes It All, Fernando and Waterloo.

My favorite is "Dancing Queen." Ok, so it's the only ABBA song I know, but it's still my favorite.:p

gimme, gimme gimme? abba fans, am i right in thinking strawberry is misguided? i think i am right in saying it's money, money, money. then again, i might not. it would be typical me to embarras myself like that!

Very wise in not embarassing yourself, GG(standing for Glorious Glorfindel), Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie (A man after midnight)(that's the name of the song, not my personal thoughts) and Money, Money, Money are both ABBA songs.

In the UK I believe we had a year of ABBA ABBA ABBA but we don't hear much about them any more, except on the play, MAMMA MIA! which is at the Prince Edward Theatre and the most popular play around.

When I was in grade school, I remembered one of our teachers going on the school's speakers and singing Chiquitita and Fernando. Now that I remember it, I can't stop laughing.:D (She had a good voice, though)

P.S.
I also remember The Winner Takes It All, Take A Chance On Me, and then there's Mama Mia from the movie "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert".

Yet another of those bands I swear I've never heard of, then I find out I've heard at least one of their songs a million times. *sigh* Somebody needs to give me a music education.

Well it all began during the depression, in south America (although you can trace it back to the slave songs of Africa...), with the event of Jazz being brought to the "white" people... :D

Abba? I like 'em, but not enough to buy 'em. Got a couple of MP3s. I like Mama Mia, and Dancing Queen.

Actually, I was thinking of something a little different. . .I know the history, but very little current music. I should have been more specific  :)

Yeah, mostly 3rd age, though I do listen to some from even earlier.

*sings* Snow-white! Snow-white! O Lady clear!
O Queen beyond the Western Seas!
O light to us that wander here
Amid the world of woven trees!

30ish years? Thats nothimg compared to Beethoven and Mozart, and even further back like Vivaldi.
Reallly, the modern idea of current you'd think iit was an alternative name for a raisin or something.
