Maybe I'm just weird, but I see more plays than movies. Any other crazy theater fans out there?

And if there are: Favorite play? Has anyone seen 'Anton in Show Buisness'?

I suppose I could be considered a theater freak; I LOVE Broadway! My faves are Annie Get Your Gun (I have the soundtrack), Beauty & the Beast, Annie, South Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof, and many others I can't think of right now.

Fiddler on the Roof is one of my favorites. My friends and I will sometimes spontaniously burst into 'If I Were a Rich Man' in the hallways at school.

I've performed in Fiddler, as one of the younger daughters. That is a great play.

I've also seen a modernized, musical version of A Midsummer Night's Dream that was very fun. Miss Saigon was the first professional theater production I had ever seen, and I LOVED it.

It's still not all that well known, but have any of you seen Honk! or Just So ? Both are some of my favourite plays, they originated in Britain, but came to my semi-local theatre.

Haven't seen those, webwizard, but Anton in Show Business is still my favorite. Umm... let's see, how about Celebration? It's been around for a while, someone might have heard of it. Written by -whosyacallit?- the same guys that wrote the Fantastics.

I'm a theater freak but I'm more an acting freak. I adore Shakespeare. if he were alive right now I'd be kissing his shoes....but then again, if he were alive we'd have to pay royalties. so never mind. :)
any other shakespeare nuts out there?

I like what little Shakespeare I've read, my favorite being A Midsummer Night's Dream. I saw that one performed outdoors by a local group a couple of years ago. I want to read King Lear.

Annie Get Your Gun is playing in my home town now. Nothing big, the theatre only seats ab out 150. it's still fun

I love theater. Producers, Les Miz. Yes.
What I love best about theater is the sound and lighting.

Gosh, I love theatre -- but I hate musicals!

My favorite playwrights are (in no particular order): Sam Shephard, David Mamet, Tom Stoppard, Bertolt Brecht, Eugene Ionescu, Harold Pinter, Joe Orton, and most of all, Samuel Beckett.

I'll watch any production of any play by Beckett, doesn't matter who is presenting it.:)

Yeah, probably his single greatest work. I also really liked Arcadia. On the other hand, Rough Crossing was disappointing. Might not be entirely Stoppard's fault though, since it's an adaptation of Play at the Castle by Ferenc Molnar (which I've never seen).

Another name to add to my list: Henrik Ibsen. How could I have forgotten him...:o
