I was initially unsure about which forum to post this in, but finally decided on this one, since most of the people over in General Messages don't even have a clue who Frodo Baggins is, so I might as well put it here. Anyway, as you may know I'm doing my website this month. My plan is to have each section of the site correspond to an area of Middle Earth. But I need stuff to put in each section. I thought maybe the Shire could be for Games, and Anduin suggested that Michel Delving could maybe a "Museum" of art, so I guess Hobbiton could be for games... I thought maybe Rivendell could be fan fic, Lorien fan art, and obviously Fangorn would be this board. But what else can I do? What could Isengard, Mordor, or any other place be? Suggestions would be appreciated. Oh, I made some images, I just took art from Rolozo and added text... Thoughts? :)

Looks like you have been doing some more work on the ol' site. I guess you haven't been slackin' after all :P The new pics look great...love the font for Mordor, and the pic for the Grey Havens...well, I love that pic! :D Keep up the great work....this site is really gonna be sumthin' !! :)

You already know I don't like the Fangorn one that much, but the new ones are great! Still no ideas for the other sections, though. Actually, maybe Mordor could be links, since you hate TOR so much :)

Actually, I thought Grey Havens could be links... you know, leaving the place and all :)

Really, Tater? That picture of Fangorn is one of my favorites, I even used it for my desktop pic. I am curious about what you don't like about it. I told Ben that it might be a cool idea to post a new pic every week or so and just discuss it in the forums. Since you don't like the Fangorn pic, and I love it, it could be interesting to talk about it.....what do you (or anyone else) think about that idea?

I like the idea of using Michel Delving as a Museum. Maybe you could really make it like a virtual Mathom House by posting some odd, little-known facts about LOTR there, as well as art. I have one idea -- maybe Isengard could be about the mythology of Middle Earth

Don't get me wrong, I love that Fangorn pic. However, I don't think it goes to well with the other pics for the page. Ben's got another one that I think would be better.

Tater, I just went back and looked through the pics again as a whole, and I can kinda see what you mean, I think.....could you please point out how you see it? Additionally, I am very interested in seeing the other Fangorn pic. Ben do you mind posting it?

I think it's fine. The other one fits in even less. All of the pics so far aren't closeups, they're more landscape kind of pictures. The one he's talking about is this one: That's just a close-up on a tree and some characters.

I go to art school, and I've learned that in some cases content is secondary. That pics color and composition go better with the other pics then the original fangorn one, which is to drab in comparison.

I guess I really don't see it...I find the first Fangorn pic extremely interesting, and the other quite boring. As for color, the latter is lacking any, it seems to be grey overall. While the first pic is not as vibrant as some, it has, none the less, more color. Besides the second looks as if the forest is dying, it's depressing.....I never had that feeling when reading the books. BTW, do you see anything in the first pic? For instance, the two small figures, a star, a duck, and what appears to be Tolkien's initials (backwards).....

I agree with Anduin on this one. Besides, each picture reflects the mood of that place... at least, it's supposed to and I think it does :P. I'll use the second image too, but I'll keep the first one and use it as I originally intended. Sorry Tater :P.

Think of anything for Mordor yet? Congrats, Anduin :) I didn't know you were getting married!

I think Isengard can be the Movie Section. It's technology, and there was all sorts of stuff going on in Isengard :) Not sure what I'll put in Mordor, no...

Mordor could be your "naughty" list :P ;) What about all of the other places? Why don't you give us the list.......

I had a dream last night and Tolkien himself came to me and said...."Anduin, you must tell Ben his website should be called [b]The Tolkien Trail.....I told Ben, and he likes it a lot. Besides who is going to argue with the man himself?
