Okay, I was just thinking about Ents a few days ago, and I was wondering- do they breathe oxygen like animals, or carbon dioxide like plants?

I hate to tell you, but plants still use oxygen for celular respiration, just like us. As long as they have green leaves, it would be most efficient for them to carry on photosynthesis, requiring carbon dioxide.

Whatever.:) A more efficient way of wording this question is do they work like us w/ breathing only oxygen or do they work more like plants and use carbon dioxide to help in photosynthesis. Okay, that wasn't really efficient, but hey, I don't care.

I think they probably work more like plants than animals. You never see them eat, but they drink draughts of water. While Pippin and Merry were in Fangorn the only kind of food they got were draughts of Entwash. This makes me think that Ents don't eat like animals, but drink water and make their own food.
But that's just my humble opinion.;)

Yeah, I would also be of the opinion that they work more along the lines of plants. Seems to me that's what they are most like!

The ents that are almost permanently asleep would be unable to find food because they don't move around. They would have to be plant like to survive that. Plants need lots of water and nutrients from the soil. Perhaps the ent draughts are to replace what they would be getting from the soil during times when they are uprooted.
I'd also like to know whether or not orcs floss. And do they have boogers?

I don't think that an orc would floss even if they had floss available. They seem to be more of the type that would use a bone to pick stuff out of their teeth maybe once a week or so. Of cource they would have boogers. Mucas plays a very imporntant role within the body. Maybe I had better stop there.
