As many of you know, Ben has made all of Act One available for down load. We should be following up with Act Two very soon so that the entire script is available. I have actually made some changes to the script based on comments and suggestions gleaned from here and elsewhere.

So, I would like to make this the forum for discussion of the script. Any opinions, comments, concerns are welcome. As I recently posted in another thread, I would hope that this discussion could take on a life of it's own with people sharing their thoughts with each other rather than just asking me questions. I will learn more that way. I will also consider, make and post changes to the script based on the discussion here.

Thanks to all.

LOL...maybe I should rework the poll so it can be answered with none of the above or all of the above. As you are the only person to respond so far, I will take your comments into account. However, time constraints make tough choices necessary yet no easier.

The nature of Hobbits might have to be explained in the Program Notes as much of the plot and time line of Les Miserables.

Thanks.

More hobbit info would be nice for people who don't know a lot about hobbits. Or kids on field trips :)

I thought that more info on hobbits would definately be a good thing, as well as a bit more backround on the Ring and Bilbo for that matter.

I do not disagree with you. However, I think perhaps re-printing "On the nature of Hobbits" in the program might be the most efficient way to convey that information tothe audience.

i agree with putting "on the nature of hobbits" in the program. i do think that more people have read "the Hobbit" than the rest of the trilogy and might be more familiar with hobbits than the other characters of the Fellowship. that's why i voted for "more info on rivendell," only not Rivendell per se, the set should take care of that. is there some way you could introduce Aragorn to the Hobbits before the council? because, i mean, he travels with them for a while before they even get to rivendell.

Janus...of course I could...but I amnot sure what that would accomplish. In my mind...and thus not necessarily in the script, the interaction of the Hobbits, aragorn and the black riders, even in the pantomime of act one scene one does at least minimally establish the relationship between Aragorn and the Hobbits in the minds of the audience which is hopefully more fully developed as the script goes on. Thoughts?
