The Silmarillion is a book of history. It tells of the creation of the world, its beings, and of the creation of the Silmarils. The Exile of the Noldor from Valinor, and the struggle of good and evil for possession of the Silmarils. Most of its events take place in the First Age of the world. It also tells of the Second Age, and the Downfall of Numenor, and of the Rings of Power and the begining of the Third Age. Within all this are several wonderful stories of bravery, love, and treachory.

A book worth reading.

:) :) :) :) Well, I wouldn't say that I have told you what the book is about as far as my explanation being along the lines of a Spoiler, but just enough info to give an idea of what this wonderful book holds for any new reader interested in attempting it..

Just a polite aside, rainbow, and a welcome to you and Glorious Glorfindel on joining the Moot. However, is there something wrong with your keyboard? I don't quite follow the usage of singular consonants replacing actual words. I know I'm just old, but it seems to make sense to me that if one is discussing the works of an Oxford professor of languages, one might consider using actual English instead of some form of south Mordor Orcish.

;)

Glad you folks joined the Moot, and forgive the observation.....just an old coot defending arcane concepts such as "grammar and punctuation".....
