Sorry Goldberry. You have to read them yourself. They won't be anywhere near as interesting if we just tell you. Sorry!

I'm one of the few people that likes a story spoiled for me. THat way I can enjoy the journey, and not just sit around waiting for the end. But, since most of the people here aren't that kind, I can only tell you the end if you e-mail me.

Happened to me too, but now that I'm reading it again, I'm catching stuff I missed-it's great! But, yes, Goldberry, I agree, you must read them yourself, and have fun! I wish I could read them for the first time again, just for the suspense!

I know its tempting, but you won't enjoy it nearly as much if we just tell you. Our words couldn't do the book justice.

As Frodo and Sam journey through the dead marshes Frodo looks in the water and sees the ghost of Gandalf who says, "Only you can prevent forest fires." Meanwhile, the relations between elves and dwarves improves as Gimli teaches Legolas a secret dwarf chant, "Hi Ho Hi Ho....." Merry and Pippin are chased by the evil monster Treebeard through his giant garden when suddenly the Jaberwocky bursts in, but that's the best part of the book and I can't give it away!;)

Very funny, olsonm. :D
If you want to know, Goldberry, there are plenty of synopsises (sp?) out there, and condensed versions, but none of them can do justice to Tolkien's work. I couldn't do justice to it either, so I'm not even gonna try.

Funny, markedel. The Felonship of the Ring, the Two Towels, and the Return of the Kink. And I thought I had too much time on my hands.....

yeah, we just don't wanna spoil it 4 u Goldberry, coz then u would know wot happenswhich REALLY ruins it!
trust me, i know!!!!
:p
You could look in the last ten pages or so of the Silmarillion... very quickly addressed... but most of it wouldn't make much sense unless you read it yourself... I know I wouldn't react very well to being told about ents without reading about them.

i knew most of the story before i finished it, because it was so exciting and intruiging i kept cross referencing a lot of things with the silmarillion, etc. and there's no way anyone can keep the whole gandalf thing secet... although i guess we'll have to :D
enjoy reading it goldberry. hopefully once you've finished it (and then read the silmarillion, of course) you can join in some of the threads. we'd love your input!
