Okay, I'm in this age bracket, so here goes.
Lord of the Rings is just amazing....I love to read, and I've read a lot, and let me tell you one thing. Nothing comes close. The storyline/plot carries it, but the characters, setting, and writing make it truely special. The whole idea of the story is just so interesting and it really draws you into the world. And thats what it is....it own whole, intricate and unique world. The characters....well, I can't find words....AMAZING. (Especially Sam :p ) JRR Tolkiens writing is just perfect for the story. The only way to make it better would be to have more books to read.:) I don't know...its just magical and amazing and special beyond anything else I've ever read. That was a lot longer than I planned.:D

i'm 14 and am totally in love with lotr!
i've been going through a bit of a tough time lately (long story) and reading lotr gives me the chance to take a break from the real world and indulge in this wonderful tale of amazing characters going on an incredible journey to beautiful far off lands. i read some every day (usually while listening to the soundtrack) and it really helps me to forget everything and relax.
i would recommend these books to any young teenager who's feeling stressed or run down.

I'm 15. I love how big it is as a world with all the details of an actual universe, while still having simple things like the hobbits which make it seem more real. And I love the way Elvish sounds. And all the poetry. I'm just obsessed with it generally.

I'm 16. Why do I read Tolkien? Wow, hard question! The first reason that comes to mind is that his world is so complete. Nor are there any big, huge holes in the logic (that's what prevents me from being an all out Star Wars fan: their good, but you could fly a Star Destroyer through some of the holes in the plot). I really enjoy the scoop of Tolkien and the huge history. I am a big history buff as it is, and to find a world that has a history almost as big and complex as our own is very fun!
