Here's what's up. Those who have reserved their places in the planning thread will be the ONLY ones with major characters, so if you want to be part of the major group than say so in the planning thread and soon. Post your character bios here and your posts. It will be the same plot as the first thread only with a few changes. Feel free to write what you want only keep it clean and the magic rule will be the same. It will be what Middle Earth would be like in other words Hobbits wont do magic or anything. I would like it to be like the first thread as much as possible.
Ok, my characters are Gwen and Sam Gamgee. You can read Gwens bio on the planning thread and Sams in the Lord Of The Rings;).

Okay, here are my characters:
Name: Alexandria Rodriguez
Age: 17
Race: Human
Height: 5'10"
Commonly wears: blues, blacks, greys, and sometimes reds (hates pink).
Eye color: blue
Hair color/type: black/straight (about waist length)

She comes from a family of seven kids, of which she is the only girl, so, needless to say, she can kick butt. Her favorite game is football, and she loves trees (she talks to them for some reason... possible Elf heritage). She also loves reading, and has read any fantasy novel she can get her hands on. She's a fairly smart kid, a good student, and also takes Karate Lessons. As the story begins, she's a few weeks away from taking her black belt test. She's good with hand-to-hand combat.

Her personality is very sarcastic. She's always cracking jokes at people, especially prissy girls.

A daughter of the Dunadain, she grew up in Imladris among the elves. A studier of elven law and a fine horseback rider and warrior, she enjoys reading, singing, riding her horse Wathalion, wandering through the woodlands of middleearth and talking with people of all races.
Fluent in many middleearth languages, she is most often employed as a guide for travellers through the forests when she is not studying and fighting in the war.

I meet you guys somewhere-or-ither when you reach middleearth and join you on your quest, becoming your guide and protector, and translating for you when neccessary.

Youngest in a family of three, Elanor is often ignored so spends her time reading and learning. She also loves going on long rambling walks through the forest and spending time with her friends.
She is quite intelligent and has a keen sense of humour, but she is very shy and quiet so it rarely comes out. She has an intense fear of being rejected by her friends as she is by her family, so never asks for anything or speaks out for herself.

Deigned Worthy Of Legend

Gwen looked at the blackboard with the usual boredom that kicked in at the end of the day. It was only 20 more minutes of boredom until she and her friends Tanaquil, Heather(who also happened to be her cousin), Alexandria, and Elanor would break free of school and spend the rest of the week at the beach, the mall or where ever they found fit to pass their time. She looked over to Tanaquil. Tan wiggled her large feet which were bare due to the fact she was more than 1/4 Hobbit. Tan looked at her and winked then nodded at the clock. Gwen turned around to look at the time. Five more minutes, four,three,two, one. 30 seconds, 20,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1! A flurry of chairs were knocked over in the mad rush to get out of their prison and out to the outdoors where they would do little or nothing. Gwen waited outside of the classroom door for her friends. Tan,Alexandria and finally Elanor. Heather was nowhere to be seen. "Let me guess. She's in the bathroom...RIGHT?" Tan asked as she hoisted her back pack higher onto her shoulder. "Tan you had to ask?I'm sure that she goes to the bathroom for the same reasons we ALL do, but then I'm sure something in the mirror has a magnetic pull on makeuped faces or something. I've never had a problem with it"Alexandria replied"Hey you guys give Heather some slack. She is sixteen after all." Gwen said as she opened her locker.
The foursome made thier way out to the flagpole where they alsways met and as always Heather was not there.

*Elanor followed her friends to the flagpole. She wondered where Heather was, but as usual was too quiet to speak out. Slowly she walked away and got out a book to read while she waited for her friend. Quietly she asked where they were going today, but was not heard. Sighing, she put her book down and watched the clouds, trying to pick up the courage to speak up for herself. "Guys, can we go to the library today? I need to pick up this book I reserved," she said. Her friends rolled their eyes and told her that they had planned to go to the ice creamery today but she could go to the library if she wanted. Sadly she said, "No, whatever you want is fine with me." then went back to reading her book*

BTW, I forgot to mention that Alexandria usually goes by Alex or Lex, whatever the individual wants to call her

Lex looked at Elanor. "I'll go with you." she said. "I've been wanting to check out this cool book I heard about anyway." She turned to the others. "We'll meet you at the Sugar Bowl (the ice cream shop) later."

"Fine," said Gwen, and she led the others off in search of Rocky Road. Lex and Elanor, however, headed over to the library, just down the street.

*Mutters*We forgot HEATHER!

Footsteps behind her made Gwen turn around. There was Heather running her hardest to cath up with them."Hey where's Lex and Ellie?" She asked. "They went to the library. We're gonna meet at Gelatos and then maybe head over to the park. Where were you?" Gwen replied "Dont say I already know the answer" Heather bumped into her cousin and the three began walking to Gelatos.

*Elanor smiles gratefully at Lex and says "Thanks. I didn't want to go by myself but I hate to inconvenience anyone." Lex replies, "Any time. I don't mind going with you. Honest!" Together they walk down the street to the library.
Inside the library, Elanor checks out her book then goes over to where Lex is looking at this new book. Elanor asks her what it's about, and who its by, hoping that it's by someone she knows so they can have an indepth conversation about technicalities.... like that time with Gwen and the Riftwar Saga...*

Lex picked up the book off the shelf.
"What is it?" Ellie asked.
"I just heard about it. It's C.S. Lewis's sci-fi series. I didn't know he wrote Sci-Fi until recently, and I loved the Chronicles of Narnia, so I figured I'd get it. Have you read and C.S. Lewis?"

Lex picked up the book off the shelf.
"What is it?" Ellie asked.

*Elanor's eyes light up.*
"C S Lewis? I loved his Narnia series when I was little, but I haven't heard of this new Sci-Fi series.... I shall have to look into it sometime. Hey.... have you read Orson Scott Card? Is novel 'Enders Game' is an absolutely fabulous read. I'm picking up the third book in his series 'Red Prophet' which is about this fascinating alternate America where magic works, and this boy with very special powers. Anyway, we'd better hurry up and get to Gelatos before they get fed up and start to leave."
*She picks up her bag and her book and waits for Lexi to finish what she's doing. Lex gets the book out from the library and together they walk up the road to Gelatos, talking about the type of books that they enjoy reading.*

Gwen sat down at the table. Tan had to go home because she forgot she had to babysit and Heather had a history report that was due on Monday so Gwen was alone. She stared at her bannana fudge shake dismally. The bell above the door jangled a merry tune. Ellie and Lex walked through the door. Gwen raised her hand and waved it to let them know where she was. They nodded and began ordering thier snacks. Suddenly Gwens appitite was back. She opened the lid to her cup and dug her spoon in. She popped it into her mouth as her friends walked towards her."Where're the others?" Lex asked "Tan had to babysit and Heather has homework to do." Gwen replied in a matter of fact tone"Did you get your book Ellie?" Ellie nodded her head. "You know what why dont we head over to my house?It's Friday and I was wondering if you'd want to spend the night?"

OOC: I'm going to be away for the next nine days or so, so can you just play my character for me remembering her personality, and not exclude me or go into middleearth yet please?

BIC: *Elanor walked into Gelatos with Lexi and immediately went to order her usual, a mint-chock-chip icecream. As she walked over to Gwen she heard her mention something about going to her house. "Hey Gwen, why don't you guys come to my house instead? There's icecream in the fridge and we can all go swimming in my pool. What do you say?"*

Lex got her brownie sundae as usual and sat down by Ellie and Gwen. "Sure. Love to. But I've got to stop by my place first. Mind? It's right on the way."
"Yeah," said Gwen. "Me too."
"Cool. Let's go as soon as we're done." replied Lex. "Oh, but when we stop by my place, well, let's just say I apologize in advance for my brothers."
"Why?" asked Ellie.
"Well, they're a little rowdy at times."
"Really? I doubt they could out-rowdy me." Elie joked, then looked down at her dish.
Lex smiled. "We'll see."

BIC: *Privately wonders how rowdy Lexi's brothers could be*

"Thats fine with me... in fact, its an excellent idea, cause just yesterday I found a way from your house to my house through the bush, and I'd like to check it out... if its okay with you guys, of course.
Anyway, shall we be on our way?

*Picks up her bag and stands up, waiting for her friends*

Lex got up to follow Ellie. They walked out and headed toward her place. They were about a block away when they heard a blood-curdling scream. THe others looked worried, but Lex just laughed.

"Don't worry guys. It's just my brother Juan. Fernando probably dunked him in the pool again."

*Ellie walks up to the doors of the house and then turns to Lexi.
"You just go inside, and do what you have to do. I'll just be up in that tree over there, reading."
Lexi looked at her, astonished. "Are you sure? You never know what my brothers might do!"
Ellie smiled at her, "I'll be okay.... you'll see.... That tree is so nice with a view overlooking the creek and everything.... and I doubt they could do anything to harm me!"
"Well... if you're sure..." replied Lex.
"Positive. Just call me when you've finished."

With that, ellie climbed up the tree and started reading her book. Gwen looked at Lexi, lexi shrugged and they both went indoors.*

Lex was in her room getting her things when she heard another blood-curdling scream. She was used to them, but this wasn't one of her brothers. She looked at Gwen.
"Ellie!" they cried in unison and ran out to the front yard. There was Ellie, tied to the tree with Lex's brothers a few feet away setting fire to the rope that was binding her. Ellie was crying. Lex was laughing. Gwen was dumbstruck.

*Ellie was completely engrossed in her book and didn't realise what had happened until it was too late. IUmmediately, she panicked and screamed, sending her friends running. Slowly, however, a smile dawned on her face and she untied the knots, throwing the rope back at Lex's brothers just as it reached the end. They howled in pain and she burst out laughing.

"I hope you don't mind having singed brothers," she told lexi. "I think they'll get better in a few days, but maybe they'll stop pestering visitors."

Lexi looked at Ellie, astonished, as she proceeded to leap out of the tree, a good 2 metre drop.

"Are you sure you're okay? NOONE escapes from my brothers once they've caught you!"

Ellie replied, "Well... then this is a first" and chuckled evilly. Suddenly, realising what she had done, she looked down at the ground and said hesitatingly, "So are you finished? I'd really prefer to be able to spend a while in the bush before I have to be home."

"Sure, I'm done. Let's go." said Lex.

Gwen shook her head at Lex's brothers. "That wasn't funny Lex. They could have HURT Ellie! There come to a point where mischief goes TOO far! They need a taste of thier own medecine. Where's some shaving cream?"
Lex and Ellie looked at each other. Whatever their crazy friend was going to do it was going to be good. "Gwen, we dont have any cream." Lex said. Gwens face fell but then she dug into her pocket" I've got...Te dollars. What've YOU got?" Lex dug in her pocket "A dollar and ten cents." Ellie dug into her pocket "Unless you want to use gum for trade...that's all I've got". Gwen grinned mischeviously "Oh I think we have enough for um...two cans of shaving cream?"
The three girls left the house and walked to the store on the corner. They not only had enough money for shaving cream but body glitter as well. The girls were walking out of the store when Ellie noticed something glittering in the gutter. She bent to pick it up.
It was a small medallion, about the size of a quarter it was heavey for it's size and it looked like gold. On the surface was writing that she couel not read. It looked like some kinds of writing in the Library. "Hey you guys wait up!" She called to the other two.
Ellie handed the medallion to Gwen, Gwen stopped to look at it "Let's look at it when we get to the house, AFTER we do what we came to do." They ran the rest of the way to the house. They ran up the stairs to the boys bedroom(they were fortunatly at a friends house). There Gwen pulled out the shaving cream"Um Gwen I dont think that um they'll appreciate this" Lex said uncertainly"Well I'm sure Ellie appreciated thier HARMLESS qoute en qoute prank today. This is NOTHING compared to what they might do next. Let's get a move on!" With that the two other girls grabbed glitter and shaving cream. "Oh you guys stay away from the school books BUT get all BUT the dorkiest clothes in the dresser." Ellie sat down on the bed to read her book.

*Ellie sat on the bed, reading her book. She didn't really want to participate in whatever Gwen was planning so stayed far far away from them. She forgot about her book and put it down as she looked at the amulet she had found. It was very heavy and made of gold, and had strange lettering on it in an alphabet she had never seen before. On the reverse side, she saw a picture of a tree with seven stars above it. Suddenly she knew that she needed to find out more about it, that it was her destiny.
She called out to Lex and Gwen. "Are you finished yet? I really want to go down to the library to check out this amulet. I'm sure its important." She stared at it more closely, examining all the delicate engraving, more skillful than she had seen in her life, while she waited for her friends.*

Gwen looked up from the pillowcase she had just smeared with shaving cream"Yeah we're almost done. Hey lex you almost done with the clothes in the closet?" Lex looke dout form the closet"Yeah I almost go the last pocket". Suddenly the fornt door slammed "Um you guys. I think the boys are home" Lex said as she stared at the door in shock. Gwen gulped"Dang. Lex YOUR ROOM QUICK!" She grabbed Ellies hand, yanked her off the bed, and ran to Lex's room. There the two miscreants and Ellie climbed out of the window and ran to the library. A scream sounded from the house. Gwen smiled that her mischief had worked. The girls were making their way to the library when...

Ellie dropped the amulet she had been holding. Lex picked it up and stopped dead in her tracks.
"Dios mio." she said. The others knew this was serious, if Lex had reverted into spanish.
"What is it?" asked Gwen.
"I've seen this symbol before... somewhere."
Gwen and Ellie looked at each other and then at Lex. "What do you mean?"
"I mean I know this symbol. THis tree with the stars over it... it's in Lewis's books."
Ellie was confused. "Huh?"
"On the back cover of The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis, this symbol is imprinted. It just so happens I was reading it again. I have it in my bag." Lex took her backpack and pulled out a hardcover book. She turned to the inside back cover and, just like she had said, there was an imprint of the tree. "This gives me an idea."
Lex got a swiss army knife from her pocket and cut the glue between the paper on the inside cover and the cover itself. THere, the girls found...

"A note!" Lexi shouted. Ellie stopped dead in her tracks and turned to face her. "What do you mean, a note?". "Somethings written on this piece of paper. Its in the same strange language as on the amulet!" Ellie grabbed the note and examined it. "We REALLY need to get to the library. You know how I told you the amulet gave me a strange feeling, like it was calling to me? Well, this note is even stronger. I can hear strange words running through my head, like 'Eru' and 'Arda'. I've GOT to find out what it means!"

The girls ran to the library, nearly knocking over the public in their rush to find the meaning of the note. When they got there, they searched top and bottom for a clue, but to no avail. They had almost given up when Gwen spotted a tiny book in the corner of one of the shelves. They picked it up and opened it, when they saw....

Lex's brothers coming into the library. Gwen muttered something inentelligble beneath her breath."What was that Gwen?" Lex asked as she looked at her friend."Nothing you want to hear. Make a break for the back of the library. ELLIE!Snap out of it!"
Ellie was staring at the book in her hands. It was a small red book with sliver writing on the cover. Underneath the word "Halflings Journey" was a a smal indentation exactly the size of the medallion. But before Ellie could get a closer look at it Gwen pulled her towards the long staircase that lead to the second floor of the building. "Ell, if you dont mind I KNOW this is an enthralling book but there are TWO teen guys and we know THREE things about them. One they've gone crazy. Two they want us or ME for lunch and three THEY'RE bigger than us! Lets worry about our lives first and THEN worry about the Halflings Journey OK?!" Gwen was explianing all this as the three girls rushed to the staricase. They ran up the stars ind duck behind a row of bookshelves. Gwen sat down panting and looked over at her friends. She grinned and they began laughing quietly. "Now that we've escaped from those "BROTHERS" we can look at the book." Gwen replied....

Ellie walked up the stairs in a daze, hardly noticing the boys following. All she could think about was the book. 'Halflings Journey..." what could that mean? What is a halfling? Why does this book sound so familiar?
As she sat down and began to read the story of one "halfling," she noticed the indentation on the cover. What did it have to do with the amulet? On an impulse, she picked up the amulet and pressed it into the cover, where she heard a kind of "clicking" sound...

Commonly wears: bluish-greys,light greens or pinks, and tans(loves to wear dresses or peasent blouse and jeans.
Eye color: brown
Hair color/type: Auburn/ straight(waist length)

Originally from Alabama, she has come to California to study history and drama. As the middle child of a family of three, she tends to be a bit shy. But if you talk about a subject she knows well, she'll talk up a storm. She is very fond of trees, and spends much time in the woods or the park. She loves reading and can often be found in the library. Most of the time she has pretty keen ears and eyes(except when her nose is in a good book). she is also a very swift runner.

Allura had been looking for a book on midevil armor styles, when she saw three girls dash up the stairs and dart behind a row of bookshelves. At first she paid them little attention, but her book search took her down the isle they were hiding on. One of the girls held a small book in her hand, but Allura could not see the title. The girl with the book pulled out a medalion and placed it in the cover of the book. It clicked, then there was a bright white light, followed by darkness.....


OOC:I read the other character profiles to give me some ideas. I like Ellie, so I thought it would be neat for Ellie to have someone similir to herself.

Lex didn't understand why the other two were so afraid of her brothers. She could handle them. Yet Gwen dragged her down the isles and they crashed to a halt. before she could say anything, she noticed ellie pressing her newly-found amulet into her new book. Just then, another woman came around the corner. Before Lex could cry "No, Ell!" a flash of light surrounded her and she found herself in a large field. Dogs were barking in the background. She turned to yell at Ellie, but was interrupted by a gruff "No one tresspasses on Farmer Maggot's land."

WHile Lex and Allur were being confronted by Farmer Maggot Gwen found herself at the base of a tree with the wind knocked out of her, Ellie had landed squarly on her friend and both were startled and suprised at the trip they had taken. "Ell" Gwen Gasped breathlessly"GET OFF O' ME!" The sound of her voice startled her. It was decidedly NOT American. It was in fact a contrified British."Wot's goin' on around 'ere?" she asked herself as Ellie rolled off of her friend to lay quite breathless and suprised by her friends side. "Lex you aright?Lex? LEX!" Gwen sat upright and looked on the far side of her friend"Ell, Where's Lex?" Ellie looked up at her "I dunno Gwen." SUddenly the formers first look of startled suprise dissapeared into a slightly bemused look" Gwen when did you change into capris an' a vest?" she asked a small grin playing on the corners of her mouth"An' when'd you lose your shoes?" Gwen looked at her friend who had stood up beside her"You should lookit yerself. You NEVER wear capris. And last time I 'eard you 'ated goin' barefooted an' yet 'ere you are standin' 'appy as you please with out yore shoes." The girls looked at each other and began laughing. Suddenly a voice sounded from the branches above them "I'm sorry but I dont see anything to laugh at. Excuse me for not getting the joke but what exactly is so funny about being a Hobbit?"The voice spoke with a cultured and refined accent. The girls looked up more suprised than they had been before" 'Oo's there?" Gwen asked her voice full of suspicion. A figure dropped out of the tree in front of them. It wa sonly slightly taller than themselves, but it had the same barefeet and curly head as the two girls who stood in dumbfounded shock infront of him. The young man had in his hand a small brown book and in the other a pipe. He wore a green shirt and brown capris with suspenders. He smiled at them and held out his large hand. " I take it that you're new here." Gwen nodded"I guess you could say tha' sir" she replied. The eyes twinkiled in a merry smile"Well then I'll introduce myself...I'm Frodo Baggins. And you are?"
Gwen smiled back at Frodo "My name's Gwen and this is Ellie my silent companion." he took her hand and shook it vigorously. "I'm VERY pleased to meet you." Suddenly the sound of shouting came from a nearby field "OH NO!"Frodo gasped his eyes widening in a terror stricken expression"Wot?" Ellie asked "Farmer Maggot" was all the handsome young hobbit would reply as he sped off towards the shouting...

Ellie followed after Gwen in a daze, hardly noticing the far-off shouting. Strange words spun through her head, and she stared at the strange world surrounding them. The sun shone down bright on her head and the earth was soft beneath her feet, and she started humming a tune unknown to her. When she looked up again Gwen had vanished with the foreign "Hobbit" but she didn't seem to care.
Suddenly, as she clutched the book and medallion to her chest, she broke out into song in a language she had never heard before.

"A Elbereth Gilthoniel!
silivren penna miriel
o menel aglar elenath!
Na-chaered palan-diriel
o galadhremmin ennorath,
Fanuilos, le linnathon
nef aear, si nef aearon!"

Her voice spread out through the countryside, surprising herself with its clearness. As she sat down next to a tree, looking out on the beautiful countryside, she fell alseep under the smiling eye of the sun.

Lex came running up to Ellie and Gwen, followed closely by what appeared to be two other hobbits, one young and the other old. The two were startled to find Lex wearing a green tunic, with brown trousers and brown boots, a green cloak, and carrying a bow and two daggers. "What on earth?" said Ellie

Allura came to in a large open field. "No one tresspasses on Farmer Maggot's land." Allura sat up, far too quickly. When her eyes finally foucsed she beheld an odd sight. A young man only four feet tall, wearing capris, was threating her with a pitchfork. She also noticed he wore no shoes, but the tops of his feet were covered with patches of curly hair. The young man with the pitchfork withdrew his weapon, such as it was.

"Careful now, you've suffered quite a blow to the head. You should lay back down." Allura laid back down with the young man's help. He took a knee beside her and taking off his jacket he folded it and placed it under her head. "Might I know your name, my lady?" he asked. "My name is Allura Sarin Songgaurd," she answered. "What are you doing here?" the young man asked her. "But where is here?" Allura said to herself. He looked Allura straight in the eyes seeing her confusion. "My lady, you are on Farmer Maggot's land." "But where is Farmer Maggot's land?" she asked. "You are in the Shire," he replied. Allura shook her head saying, "The Shire? But that was only in the stories mother told me, and my dreams. I must have hit my head hard when I fell," she said bewildered. "Lady Allura, you do not know what land you're in. Can you a least tell me how you came to be here?" "I truelly wish I could answer that," she looked at the sky above then closed her eyes,"but I am not completely sure myself. Why do you call me 'My lady'? And who are you?" Sweeping a graceful bow he said, "My name is Peregrin Took, though most call me Pippin or Pip. She had no time to ask what he meant by that. "Your companion has went with my cousin, Merry, and Farmer Maggot to look for your other friends. And to bring back some help for you." By this time Allura's mind was begining to cloud over again. So she only faintly heard the last he said has she slipped into darkness once more.......

Ummm this is taking a slightly contradictory turn. Michelle is alone with Pippin in a feild and Lex is being led along by who I might assume would be Merry and Farmer Maggot. Why wouldn't the two hobbits take Allura too? Unless of course Allura had been knocked unconsiece by her fall and had'nt woken until the others were gone, but then what would Pip be doin' out in the field? Could we have some alterations made so it makes a TAD more sense?

i have changed mine. glad i did.I like it much better. As for why Pippin and Merry where in the field in the firs place. Frodo could ask them. They were trying to stealing Farmer Maggot's crops again, and got spotted before they could do the deed.lol

I just thougth it would be easier for them to fit into the hobbit society if they were hobbits. I mean there are th tiny houses to think about, the chairs etc. Although Gandalf didn't have a hard time sitting on them apparently. Hmmm. I can change my post if you'd like.
And thanks Michelle. Now it makes ALOT more sense than it used too. And remeber. WE HAVE NEVER MET ALLURA IN OUR LOVES BEFORE!We dont know who she is, which I hope explains my next post.

Lex approached them, looking quite flustered. "Um guys, listen, This is Merry and Farmer Maggot. Or so they say. I'm starting to think my brothers have really gone too far this time. So does anyone know where we are?"

"Why," said the little hobbit. "You're in the shire. Quite a sight, it was, you just appearin' here out of nowheres. Quite a sight."

"Magic or no, no one tresspasses on Farmer Maggot's land," the old hobbit said.

"Okay, can you stop saying that, please? We can't help that we're here now," said Lex.

While the others were talking Merry leaned over to Gwen"Was that just me or did an overgrown squirrel just shimmey up that there tree?" Suddenly a large chestnut came from the thick foilage and hit Merry straight on his head. The sound of a bird sounded from the branches above, quite angrily and indignant. Merry looked up to the top of the tree still rubbing his head"Yep that'd be a crow. Or should I say a Crodo?" he added in a whisper to Gwen. A slight mumbling was heard above them. It sounded like"You'll pay for that Merry." Then there was silence.
Gwen looked at Merry in suprise "He knows you?" "I should say so Miss. He's my second removed cousin on my fathers side and his mothers side."
Finally Lex and Farmer Maggot got thngs cleared up and the small group returned to the field where they found Allura and Pippin talking pleasantly. Ellie leaned over to Gwen"Who's THAT?" she asked meaning Allura. "Dunno Ell but I'm sur ewe'll find out soon enough." Suddenly the sound of a breaking limb and a thump caused Gwen to turn around. Frodo was out of his tree.

While the others had obtained their accents immediately, it seemed to take a moment for Lex's to kick in. Suddenly, another hobbit jumped out from a nearby tree. "Blessed Eru!" she exclaimed. "Am I fooled or do these creatures multiply as we speak?' She suddenly realized that her voice was that of an educated Brit. Why, she knew not. Nor knew she who this Eru was of whom she spoke.
"Nay, lady. I tell ye, these scoundrels were in me garden again, stealin' me mushrooms!" said Farmer Maggot.
"We weren't stealin', mister." said Merry, approaching with the newcomer. "We were just passin' through, right lads?"
Frodo and Pippin nodded heartily.
"Very well, then. Would someone please reveal to me our location." said lex.
"Why, you're in Middle Earth, in the shire, like I said," repeated Pippin.
"Middle Earth?" laughed Lex. "Why, that is nothign but a children's tale, a bedtime story. What year is it?"

Uh oh. What year was it when Frodo set off on his whatchamacallit? Ummm ummm. Ummmmmmmmmmm. I THINKG they got back in 1318 but I'm not absoballylutely sure. Hold on. It was 3018 in September. This should be in...July let's say?Or should it be August. Let's make it August.

"It is August 3, 1418, by Shire Reconing," Pippin replied.Allura looked at Pippin then to the girls. She felt something strange about this place. The dreams she'd had as a child were coming true right in front of her. She looked back at Pippin.She didn't know weather to be happy or frighten. What would happen to them now? She wasn't sure.......

Frodo looked from Allura to Pippin,"And whom might this fair maid be?" he asked,turning to the girls. They just looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders. "Her name is Allura Sarin Songguard," Pippin said. "What a mouth full!" one of the girls blurted out. All heads jerked in thier direction. The girls started looking around like nothing was said. Merry stood there trying to stiffle and laugh. Frodo jabbed him with his elbow, and Merry burst out laughing. Soon everyone was laughing. "My Lady it is pleasure to meet you," Frodo said with a chuckle. Pippin smiled, then offered his hand to Allura. With Frodo's help they soon had her on her feet. Farmer Maggot half frowned," Well, seeing as she's hurt you had best bring her to my place. The missus can patch her right quick." So they all started out for Farmer Maggot's home......

Gwen gave Lex a look as if to say "Guys." Lex nodded and rolled her eyes heavenward. They followed behind the farmer his dogs and their new friends. The woman called Allura and the young hobbits. Gwen trotted up to Allura as they were walking. "Were'd you come from? I mean last thing I knew there was only three of us sittin' round this book at the library an' now we've got four chaps an' all. What's up?'ow'd you get dragged into this? Wot's yore name an' all?"
My anme is Allura, as you heard well enough back in the field. I am 22, but here I dont know HOW old that would be. What aobut you?" "ME? My name's Gwen an' I'm fourteen. But 'round 'ere I dunno 'ow old tha' is. 'ey you hobbit chaps 'ow old is fourteen in yore years?" Pippin looked at Gwen "YOU? FOURTEEN? You'd be a little toddler so you would. Nope you look more along MY age around...28 or so." Gwen looked suprised"But 'ow old IS tha'?" Pippin looked at her in surprise"What do you mean? 28 is 28 an' tha's a fact" "No where I come from fourteen is when you're a TEEN ager. You know irriesponisble stealing the" here Gwen paused wondering if she should say car or not. She decided against it"...ponies from the stables and takin' a wild night ride on 'em. Stealin' vegtables an' all. You know."
Pippin nodded and fell behind to talk to her "Yeah, 'ere I'm a counted as a tween. I have five more years before I become of age at 33, figure it out form there." Gwen calculated on her fingers "So tha' would make me your age...28. Cool I'm older'n Allura there."
Pippin shook his head " HER? nah she's about 40 45. SOmewher ein an' around there. Frodo there HE'S fourty nine, almost fifty in September." Gwen shook her head "FRODO? FIFTY. He looks like he's thirty." Pippin nodded "He'd be about tha' old to you. What is it like form where YOU'RE from" "Well for one thing people LOOK their age. They're startin' to grey around forty or so." "FORTY!!"Pippin exclaimed "Where're you from?" "I'll tell you later. Let's catch up to the others."

Lex smiled. Gwen seemed to be getting along with the "hobbits" just fine. But she was the only tall person here. It made her kind of awkward feeling. She wondered how old she'd be in "shire reckoning"
"Pardon me," she said to the one called Merry. "I am seventeen. How old would I be in your time?"

"Why miss," said Merry. "It's 'ard to tell with elves, far as I know. You could be three thousand or you could b a 'undred."

"I see," said Lex.

"And what was your name?" Merry asked.

"Alexandria. But by my friends I am called Lex."

"And I," said the little hobbit, bowing lavishly, "Am Meriadoc Brandybuck. But by my friends I am called Merry."

Ellie stood off in the distance, watching her 3 companions talking with the hobbits. The shy girl that she was, she waited patiently for them to finish. As they moved off she began to follow them slowly, still astounded by the beauty surrounded her. Suddenly she was broken out of her reverie by a tap on the shoulder. Spinning around, she came face-to-face with the hobbit they had called Frodo. Quietly she asked, "What age do you think I would be?" He replied, "Oh, you look a bit older than your friend gwen... maybe about 31, 32." Ellie, looking behind her, realised that the others had vanished into the cornfields. "Dont worry," Frodo said as he saw her anxious face. "We'll catch up to them soon enough." He began to lead her through the cornfields to Farmer Maggots house, and Ellie started to talk about the beauty of the land surrounding them. Frodo sighed and said, "Yes, it is the loveliest place in the world. I wish never to leave it" Ellie wondered why he sounded so sad, but before she had time to ask him they were on the doorstep of Farmer maggots' house. Frodo opened the door for her and they followed the others to the living room.

Pippin took Allura to a chair placed before the fire. Farmer Maggot's wife came into room astonished to see two elves in home. "Well what have here?" But before any one cold answer her, she notice the wound on Allura's head. "Dear you had best have a seat. Let me have a look at that." She turned to Pippin, "Go an fetch some water." Pippin returned a few moments with some water and a towel. Taking the towel and wetting it, Mrs. Maggot began to clean the wound."It's not as bad as it seems. With a bit rest you should fine by tomorrow." Farmer Maggot finially asked, "So will someone tell me what you where doing in my fields?"

"Ah well. Ummmmm Le's see." Pippin stammered "Ummmm. Ladies first ya know proper whatsit!" Mrs Maggot looked up from Alluras wound to Pippin"Why ye've never treated my girls like tha' Master Peregrin. Wha's changed yore mind all of a sudden like?" Pippin blushed."Well Ye know Mrs Maggot" He began as he started edging towards the table behind Gwen. There was water on it." These folks are elves an eveythin' an' we want to treat 'em nice like ye know." He replied as he picked up the water and walked over to the chair opposite Farmer Maggot, Mrs Maggot, and Allura. On his way he tripped on Gwens outstreached feet and fell with a thud. The water landed square in Gwens face. She and all the others begn laughing at Pippins unfortunate mistake. Gwen wiped her sleeve across her face and still chuckling began a story QUITE different from the true story.
"Well ye see Mr Maggot sir, my friends an' I were born outside of The Shire, in Bree ye know an' we've lived there all our lives an' all. Well Ellie an' I were born...outside of The Shire. We've been wantin' to see the birthplace of our parents for awhile so we made our way 'ere. We met up with THESE two just outside of the border." Here she pointed at Lex and Allura" We went on together quite nicely until we came across THESE two in yore feilds" Here the young girl pointed at Merry and Pippin who had been migrating nearer the door as she spoke." They were...were...um oh there's a word for it...They were takin' a stroll I guess not knowin' they were walkin' on your fields'. All of a sudden Allura 'ere tripped on a rock or somehting that rolle dout from beneath her feet and she fell backwards. Ellie an' I ran for 'elp were we met Frodo 'ere then we was met by you an' Lex an' Merry an' Pippin an' went on from there."
Ellie looked at Gwen wide eyed, Frodo also was staring at Gwen. He had SEEN them fall from heaven but had decided not to say anything until they knew each other better. Merry and Pippin were backing her story with vigurous nods and exclamations like "Oh yes. We were goin' for a stroll an' all. Ummm we like goin' over fields an' stuff so...Yeah." They smiled and continued nodding until a weird look from Gwen stopped them.
Allura and Lex didn't say anything. Lex was suprised that wen had said all that without so much as a blink of an eyelid but she knew that Gwen was protecting Both themselves AND their new hobbit friends from the certain wrath of Farmer Maggot.

Lex had to think fast. What would two "elves" be doing walking through the shire?

"My friend Allura here had been wandering when she suddenly knew not where she was. I was in Bree, after having traveled from" what was the name of that elf city from the fairy tales? "Er, Rivendell. We met there and decided to travel together. I had never visited it, and thought that perhaps this would be the time to see it and therefore we came here. We perchanced upon your field and encountered the "hobbits"."

Confused by this change of events, Frodo leaned over to whisper in Ellies ear, "So how did you REALLY get here?" Ellie grinned back at him and said, "believe me, I dont have the faintest clue and if I tried to explain it I'd just get us both confused." Then, seeing the eyes of her friends upon her she quickly turned to Farmer Maggot and halted the silence by inquiring, "Erm... what is it like living in the Shire. I've always wondered how it would feel not to be surrounded by people taller than you and looked down at." Distracted from his previous thoughts, Mr maggot started to talk. "Well, I really wouldn't have anything to compare it to, having lived in this house all my life, as did my father and his father..." He kept talking for over an hour and by the time he was finished the four girls were fast asleep in their chairs.
