I was pleased to find this rather extensive website... A few years ago, I lost a great many of my JRRT hardbacks to a sudden rainstorm which blew in an open window, turning the books into soggy messes. I am looking for internet-friendly booksellers that might carry JRRT hardbacks so that I can replace my collection. Primarily I am interested in the earlier volumes of his sons litcrit material. I live in Japan, by the way, so it would have to be over the web... Any ideas? Thanks-

Welcome to the board! I too am looking for hardcovers. I'll tell you if I find anything but I'd say the best place to look is Amazon.com

I would imagine they might turn up on Ebay from time to time.

My sympathies for the damage to your collection. I live in a humid climate and store my Tolkiena in an isolated and protected spot. For used hardbacks try www.bibliofind.com or www.alibris.com. For new or used, try www.bestbookdeal or www.bookfinder.com. There are other good search engines out there.

Well, it seems you're a little overzealous ;)

Mithadan isn't new, he's been posting here since April (though sparingly). Of course there's nothing wrong with welcoming him again... :p

hi! i know i'm new here... but i was kind of browsing around, and this caught my eye. :)

i'm really sorry about your book collection. that's awful. i lost my favorite JRRTs earlier this year when my house flooded.

i, personally, buy all of my books off of ebay. anytime i ever look for them there, i find them, and i collect a great and many different kinds of books.

Welcome to the board! I think it's time I became an ebay regular.
