I have to agree. Sam is my favorite character, I so guess I identify with him the most.

I'm a cross between Aragorn and Galadriel. Their both pretty emotional, but I think Galadriel is more so. I like to be independent like Aragorn.

I'd like to think I identified with Aragorn, before he was king. Always waiting and working towards something that may or may not happen. I'm not sure how realistic that is though. I guess I'm just a sucker for a tragic hero...

I would have to say three different characters, because there are certain aspects of them that I identify with...anyway,
Legolas, Aragorn, and Eowyn. I would attempt to explain why, but that would take too long, and I am feeling rather lazy at the moment.

This is tough. Probably...a cross between Boromir and Sam (I know, it's confusing)

I indentify most with Meriadoc...fun-loving, yet practical and industrious. Not so much a planner ahead like Sam...but still with a head on his shoulders.

For me, it's Galadriel. I can be stubborn, but also very intelligent, emotional, caring, and spiritual. My weird side is Pippin; carefree, childish, and crazy!:D

Well, I'm not sure how this works out, but . . . Aragorn, Eowyn, and Hobbits in general.

okay, here's mine: I would love to be more like Legolas, but he's so concrete and I'm so very random!
Therefore, I go for Eowyn. She's just like me. And here's why:
I've always been around guys, whether I wanted to be or not. I grew up with them, and I knew how to fit in. THe thing was, when I got older, they started treating me like a girl. I wasn't "one of the guys" anymore. I hated that. We couldn't goof around anymore because they were always afraid of hurting me, but I knew that I could take care of myself. And then they started doing "guy stuff". I had to hang out with the prissy girls.
Eowyn seems the same way. Suddenly she's getting left behind just because she's a girl. So, in her desperation, she does exaclty what I would do. She disguises herself, rides into war with the guys, and shows everybody a thing or two.

I identify with all the hobbits in the Shire - I like the rural lifestyle (despite not having experienced it at all... I am idealistic!)

I think that I identify the most with Merry because he wasn't "fool" like Pipin , but he was fun loving as Asilynn said.
I idebtify with the hobbits because I weren't in adventurs.

Probably Gimli. I can be very stubborn at times but also I can be nice and good friend to those I trust.

I identify with Pippin, the "Fool of a Took". He was fun loving, irreverent, and sometimes caused trouble because of his curiosity.

From the character I am most like to least:
I go by my feelings as to who I am in the book.
Like when I feel the most like Sam is when I am cooking, walking, talking to my Frodolike friend, after I say something REALLY stupid, when I put my feet into my mouth, when I misunderstand something as something else, and when I am defending something or someone I love. That's rare the last part because the need for defense is usually not needed BUT then When it DOES happen I do something REALLY dumb and once again I make a REALLY stupid mistake like Sam did in the Choices Of Master Samwise.
If I'm weirded out or hyper I'm like Pippin. I'm not as bad as my Brother who is like the movie Merry and Pippin rolled into one,but I do say and do some strange stupid things but nobody cares cause they laugh.
Where can you find tests?I want to try one out. I haven't done one yet so if you could direct me I'd be RALLY happy with you.
Oh BTW right now I feel like Merry. At home and restin' easy.
Sam

I always identified with Faramir. I also identify with Merry.

Hmmm...yikes. That's tough. I guess different people at different times...
Cause when I'm really going off the wall (which is often, especially with my crazy friends), I suppose I'm like Pippin. And/or Merry. But at other times I identify with many other characters...but I think mostly Sam. And a lot of other people have said Sam too...and I think I know why. Well, I'm guessing, anyhow. (Though I'd like to grab Sam away and steal him all for myself...:))
See, the story was filled with fantastically awesome characters, and heroes and whatnot...Aragorn, the lost King, Frodo, the very special hobbit who had this huge burden, and Legolas and Gimli, the elves and the dwarves in general, and the wizards and orcs (ick!) and all the other amazing things...but Sam was the most like us. See, we can identify with him...he thinks of the practical stuff. I read a really nice article about this...the author was talking about how Frodo's all wrapped up with the ring and Sam's remembering to bring cooking pots and food and rope (at least the second time!) and all that stuff...and then he follows Frodo because he loves him, and defends him because he loves him, and I think most people have experiences with that kind of thing...or losing someone they love, or coming close to it. So...I guess that's why. It's sort of that Sam's everyone's little window into Middle Earth...because he can carry us along, because we feel we know him so well.
Riiight...okay. That was a rather long post....oh well. I think y'all get the point...:) Oh, and I'll try to get a link to that article up here...though I don't know if I can find it again. *cross fingers!*

Gimli. Very much so. I don't make friends all that fast (I tend to think the worst of everyone, but once we become friends I'll stick through thik and thin. I'll even stick around through bad spelling.
I am very stuborn, I love gems and such but also enjoy more "elvish" things.

I would have to say Gimli. I'm a very stubborn person. I'll stick by my side no matter what anybody else throws at me. I'm also like Aragorn though. I like to be by myself quite often. I find it easier that way.

Old thread!
Eowyn (limited selection for women... ) - but I don't have a death wish, nor a penchant for kings. If there wasn't a limitation on sexes, then I guess I would choose Ghan-buri-Ghan.

For me it would have to be Denethor, King of Gondor. Regal, a natural leader. Exactly like me, I've been told numerous times that I'm a snob my my friends. Maybe...maybe, not, I certainly believe that I am of a better calibre than some, even most other people.

Let me think...
I think Gandalf, becuase he was scared from Sauron (as I would be in that situation) and was always good, and foccused in the purpose.

I was sayin' I'm a bit like him, BoP. He's all yours, if you want him. Neh. I can't see any reason why a reasonable man/woman will like to be as Feanor. Maybe Galadriel...

I think I would be most like Gandalf, Frodo, and Strider.
I'm serious and sometimes stern like Gandalf, I'm thoughtful and I like to learn, which could be applied to Frodo( yay! ), and I love the outdoors; the woods specifically.
Also, I have a strange Pippin/Merry-ish side of me that pops up every once and a while.....v. odd :) .

I am most like Eowyn. If there was a war on, I would not want to stay home and cook and clean, just because I am a woman! I would want to go and fight, like the men. Plus I have been known to get crushes on cute guys which have not be fulfilled!:(

I identify most with Merry. I'm hobbit-like, enjoy simple pleasures, but I also enjoy book larnin:D . I also tend to steer clear of conflict, but when pressed I stand up to the challenges life throws my way.

Even though I haven't read the Sil... ...I would have to say a mix of Eowyn and Aragorn. Like Eowyn, in a war I wouldn't stay home. But like Aragorn, I do not go lightly after the hearts of women (men actualy 'cuz I'm a girl). I've been after the same guy for nine whole years, I think that proves my point.

In my everyday life, I id with Gandalf and Strider, taking care of everything so that things run smooth for evryone, in spirit, Bilbo! I'm eccentric, like to have my fun, don't really care what others think, like to be by myself, but fun to be around.

eeerrmmm i think maybe a cross between pippin and eowyn, most ppl would say i'm more like pippin because i'm usually doing stupid things without thinking, i identify more w/ eowyn for many reasons.

I did the LotR personality test, and it said I was Frodo like eight times. It also said I was Gandalf, Legolas, Pippin, Galadriel, and Gollum (?!!!). I would say that I am like Frodo because I like to read and can take responsability. I am like Legolas because I like nature and tend to be reflective. I am very weird like Pippin. Gandalf, well, I am knowledgeable in a lot of strange things that could only be useful in his situation. Galadriel-I don't know why it said I was like Galadriel. And Gollum-I guess I haven't discovered my Gollum side yet. From what has been said here, I would say I am a bit like you, The Ringbearer.

When I first read the books, I most identified with the Hobbits, because I was as awed by the beauty of Middle-Earth as they were. Now that I'm older (hopefully a little wiser) I identify more with Faramir.
