If you were the author of LoTR, would you name it Lord of the Rings? If not, what would be your alternative chosen title? In other words, what would you call LoTR if it weren't LoTR? Just wondering.....

Cat in a Hat....whoops sorry...wrong book!!! I would probably call it 'There and Back again' like Bilbo did!!
Possible alternatives:
Lure of the Ring
Ring Thing
Ringin' in the Rain
Ringless

Fatal Distraction (get it? Gates of Mordor, RotK?)
West Ring

Hey, Eruviel--we should start on a quest to suppress all rabid fangirls who would do harm to the REAL story! :)
To continue Terry Pratchett...
(I just had a thought (~no, really? Good work, Tanoliel! *Shut up!), what would happen if--and I know, I know, this is dumb--if Terry and J.R.R wrote a book together? I mean...really...things could get crazy...
Anyhow...here goes:
FRODO (instead of "Mort")
Sauroncery
Ring! Ring!
Elves and Men (Lords and Ladies)
Carpe Ring (Hah! Seize the ring...just what so many wish for! :))
Ring Music (did someone already say that? Argh...oh well)
Ring of Clay
The Fifth Oliphaunt (there's one for dear Samwise!)
okay..okay...that's enough for now...i'll go hole up in my hobbit hole and think up original ones (~Good girl, Tano! *I thought I told you to shut up! We don't want the moot people to know about you yet--um...oops....)

Tanoliel, those Terry Pratchett ones are great. I was trying to think of what I could do with Feet of Clay..."Feet of Frodo," but that doesn't work. I couldn't remember any other titles. And yes, we do need to start that quest....! :)
Here's some more:
~Small People, Big People, and The One Ring (that was my brother)
~Anyone heard of Phillup Pullman's His Dark Materials?
How about... The Golden Ring, The Subtle Sword, and The Amber Palantir. The last one is Tanoliel's.

You know...I doubt that this girl has either....it's really Orlando Bloom they're going nuts over. I don't really think they care about his character, just his looks, which stinks, because he's really awesome in the books ("Farewell! I go to find the sun!" etc)...but oh well. Nibs. yup, we borrowed a lot of words from spanish since we were colonized for around 200 yrs and english since the 1900s. Tagalog is a native language in the area in and around Manila and is where most of the official filipino language words were based. Gusto means "to like" in filipino while it means "pleasure" in spanish; slightly different.
There are other languages like Cebuano, Ilocano, etc.

Oh! I just had a title, and then I forgot it! How irritating! Oh well. Maybe I'll think of one soon. I hope.
And Willow, Tano's right. There isn't much you can do. :D
