Well since noone else does, here goes. Talk about the story here, those who haven't posted their characters, do it here, and so on and so on.

Lief, what's keeping you? I didn't get a mail from you :( (here me talking... With my week slow to reply... Sorry. Oh i'll probably won't make it to the lee abbey camp... My dad has recently had a carcrash and it will cost a lot to repair the car, so we have to save on everything possible. If however by any fortunate circumstance i can make it, i'll let you know...)

hey Irid! I was waiting for someone else to post the next part of the story before writing something else! so far nothing's really happened with my character so i don't know what to put and where to go with it...

You could somehow get your character to notice us three elves (maybe something with my wolves or something) and ask something or so. Eventually we'll all be together in that forest, so the sooner you get to know us, the better :D

Tessar
02-16-2002, 06:36 PM
ouch! I'm guessing your dad is ok, right?

Lief Erikson
02-17-2002, 02:02 AM
Actually, I can't recieve or respond to any emails from anyone presently, or post much at all on Entmoot either. I'm glad to finally be able to talk to you guys finally and explain. And thanks for keeping the RPG going without me, everyone! It's looking great!

My Internet access has broken down, and right now I'm using someone else's computer; an uncommon opportunity. Please be patient with me, all, till it is repaired.

Irid al'Menie
02-17-2002, 05:49 AM
I understand, Lief

My dad's ok, it's just the car that had a crush. The bumper will have to be changed and that will cost a lot :(

As promissed, I will join this RPG :) The story is going great btw, really great!

Name: Arat-BĂ*renath
Race: High-elf
Born: in Valinor
Gender: male

BackStory: Came from Valinor to Middle earth to help his brother, Arat-Lumënion, in the fight against Sauron. Lumënion moved to middle earth with his wife, EÀnel, in a young age, since she had her whole familly in the eastern lands.
Two of Arat-BĂ*renath's sons are also with him (Their names should not be of any importance I think, and as told in the NĂĄrmacil story, his third son: Arat-CĂșrion, didn't leave the blessed realms with his father).
BĂ*renath's wife died while giving birth to CĂșrion.

BĂ*renath use a bow and also have two daggers. He is fast and his eyes are sharp. What he aimes at, he hits 99% of the time. I guess though, since he have never fought evil before, he isn't ready for what awaits him in middle earth...
------
My entrance will come when I see that the time is right...

When you meet us, pay attention. We have fought off more evil then you can imagine ;)

Well i'm sure Erenfor, Tessar and I have, and i guess Kaytrien too :p

In consern of my entrance..

Is there any defensive walls around the Galmaeri Lands or around the city/town/village Tomenag??

- Arat-Falathion

Irid al'Menie
02-18-2002, 11:41 AM
As i kinda invented Tomenak: No, there aren't any walls. It's just a little village, with an inn of course :)

and a smithie and other such professions.

Mathron
02-19-2002, 01:16 AM
Well, I have joined in, and more on my characters shall become clear eventually. ~grin~ Some may be familiar to those who have seen my posts in the other RPGs. I had seriously intended to have new characters, but am simply too busy to do so, so took the easy way out, and used them again...

Arat-Falathion
02-19-2002, 11:23 AM
If I understood your first post correct Lief, you said that the Galmaeri Lands were very close to Mordor, so I thought that this land shouldn't live too much in peace. That's why I made my entrance that way I guess... well, well...

I'm still wounded right? and I won't be healed within some time right? ok, so I won't participate in this fight against the orcs I guess (guess)... and btw. I lost my bow as I escaped, so I guess I only have my two daggers now :p ...I should go to the smithie and get a new sword, or maby get a new bow somewhere I guess :D When I'm better that is...

And btw. on which geographical side of mordor is this land? north, east, south or west?

- Arat-Falathion

Irid al'Menie
02-19-2002, 04:36 PM
Ok, i think i've found enough courage :D

I wrote a little poem about Irid al'Menie. Could you guys give your opinion on it? Please?

I rode through places
woods, plains, mountains
into darkness.
Followed by Wolves
They are my guide.
I have lost
and I have found.
And ever, ever do I ride
Together with my guides.

I know it's not good, it's only the second poem i tried to write... But it comes from my heart, that's the important thing :D

Tessar
02-19-2002, 08:40 PM
Seems good to me!

Arat, yes you will still need a day or two to heal, I didn't heal you all the way, just speeded things up a bit. so no insto presto next morning fit as a fiddle jumping out of bed like a jack-in-the-box ok? ;)

Arat-Falathion

Hmm...only me left to complete the last roleplayers of the previous RPG? I'll join, once I get background information on this RPG. Is it during the 2nd age or 3rd age? If 3rd, have the Istari arrived? And if the Istari mentioned in the starting RP is indeed the '5 Istari', can one of the 'planters' be Saruman?

And if this is indeed the 3rd Age, sounds a little strange with the elves talking with each other about events that happened almost 5 millenia ago ;) Immortality, sigh...

Mathron
02-25-2002, 04:53 PM
Hey Lief - in the Pentagrid Net, in my last post, I had left a hook for Erenfor meeting Harnauro - would you like me to remove it, as you had Erenfor elsewhere after the battle?

Lief Erikson
02-25-2002, 08:45 PM
Sorry about that Mathron, I had some catch up work to do and was speed reading, so I missed the end of your post. However, I think my response causes no deleting to be necessary, so let's continue, leaving it the same.

Selwyth, it is the third age and yes, if you want Saruman to be one of the planters, I guess that's okay with me.

Arat-Falathion
02-26-2002, 10:33 AM
I have vacation now, and I'm skiing in the mountains, though I'm home today... because my computer has started to crash alot, (every 3rd minute aprox.) I must formate my computer before I can write anything... I hope I'll have time to write here before tomorrow.. if not, then I guess I'm still sleeping at the bench, or maybe you guys can carry me or what ever...

Name: Ulmog
Race: Uruk-Hai
Born: Isengard
Description: Saruman's ambition is realised. Inspired by Sauron's new broodlings -- the black Uruks who do not fear the sunlight and are savage and brutal -- Saruman has bred the first of the Uruk-Hai of Isengard, in his corrupted and slowly-conniving effort to break from the White Council. Ulmog, being a pure-bred, matches the elves and men in stature and height and posseses a sufficient amount of intelligence to converse fluently in the Westron tongue. He is hideous to behold, though not so as the normal Uruks and Orcs, due to his murky creation, which was believed to have been a genetic blending of an Uruk and Dunlending. He carries a broad black sword by his side which he swings with brutal speed. Slung around him is a bow which he uses occasionally, though not with skill. He does not have a shield -- he does not need it -- using blinding ferocity and relentless charges to render this lack insignificant.

Name: Alfwine
Race: Man
Born: A farm north of Edoras, near the precinct of Fangorn
Description: A Rider of the Mark. He posseses the golden hair and blue eyes characteristic of the Rohirrim. Is fleet-footed and fights on horseback, where he wields a lance. He sheaths a white sword. Swears undying allegiance to the King of Rohan (um, who?) and is a young soldier thirsting for adventure.

Am I accepted?

Lief Erikson
02-28-2002, 02:34 AM
What do you mean 'am I accepted?' Of course you're accepted! Now you'd better connect your Rohirrim with our heroes swiftly before we waltz off to the Pentagrid without him.

Madrik The Dark
02-28-2002, 07:50 PM
Hey, can a The Dark One join the story? or goody-two-shoes only?

Irid al'Menie

of course a dark one can enter, Dreanis (;))

One already has (see selwythe)

Alright thanx Irid...

Lief Erikson
03-03-2002, 11:28 AM
Good entrance Madrik. And by the way, I hope you aren't waiting on others to respond to your creature, for it hasn't met anyone else yet. You'll have to make it act if it wants to be included in the adventure.

Just telling you, in case you haven't been in many other RPGs before.

Irid al'Menie
03-03-2002, 12:28 PM
I'll answer in his place

he's been in other rpgs, mostly at santharia (fantasy world on internet) where one of his characters (dreanis) is Irid's lover ;)

Arat-Falathion
03-14-2002, 12:04 PM
I just wondered.. wz up with the inactivity? did I screw something up with my last post or what?? :p
Let the story continue guys/girls!! come on!

:D

Irid al'Menie
03-14-2002, 12:07 PM
I must say i don't have any inspiration...

And then to say i've had bursts of inspiration for the biography of Irid :D

Lief Erikson
03-14-2002, 02:05 PM
I think we're waiting on Tessar, but it probably isn't necessary to do that. I'll respond soon if he doesn't.

Mathron
03-14-2002, 03:26 PM
I, as I've said, will not be as active as I have in the past. Right now I'm waiting for the party to either go to the pentagrid, or something to happen with other characters, before responding with Mal or Harnauro.

Lief Erikson
03-19-2002, 09:38 PM
Well, someone is going to have to post with what's going on with the company. And that somebody probably shouldn't be either me or Mathron, as we don't have any characters there just yet.

Arat-Falathion and Selwyth, I do hope you have some good idea about how your characters can end up becoming connected to what's going on anyway. Because right now he's they're looking to become awfully disconnected from everyone else.

Selwythe
03-20-2002, 10:01 AM
Was hoping to have some interaction and tale-telling in the night to lead to Alfwine following into the forest but time 'passed a little fast'. Will make it up with actions.

Arat-Falathion
03-20-2002, 10:02 AM
I know Lief, but I have a plan for my character now... I might be disconnected from the others for a while... but I think this would give more meaning for my character, as his presence of being here is not to go to the Pentagrid, but to find his brother... and therefor I will go a little around in the town after I have ate breakfast, and ask a little around about my brother... someone might know him, you know... :) I will awake when the others have left... so I am currently waiting for the others as well...

- Arat-Falathion

Lief Erikson
03-20-2002, 10:40 AM
Okay, just so long as you guys have a plan.

Tessar
03-20-2002, 11:47 AM

Arat-Falathion
03-20-2002, 12:47 PM
I will most likely not have time to post until tomorrow.. but as I said.. I have a plan :D

Irid al'Menie
03-20-2002, 04:01 PM
as long as you come with us somewhere in the future (this is for irid speaking ;))

Arat-Falathion
03-20-2002, 04:13 PM
Haha! :) lol.. I'm flattered :o
:D

btw people! Check out this sieglet for Dungeon Siege.. and see who first finds out who is making music for the game :D

...and please don't ask why I don't do it for NeverWinterNights instead :p

Lief Erikson
03-22-2002, 02:49 PM
By the way, Selwyth, it's not especially important since no one took her up on it, but Slythre isn't stupid enough to consider delving into the forest after what happened to the elves. Not unless there was a very good chance of not having the same misfortune coming upon her.

Selwythe
03-22-2002, 10:27 PM
By that phrase, I meant they were not leaving the forest anytime soon.

Irid al'Menie
03-23-2002, 08:59 AM
What in the name of Elbereth happened to the forum? All i see is purple and pink!!!

Lief Erikson

These pink and light green colours are destroying my eyes though.

Irid al'Menie

Well right now we need leif to come and tell us/me what he wants my help with.

oh and is the fact I moved things fword a day a problem? I can change it...

Irid al'Menie
04-05-2002, 04:44 PM
that's not a problem for me, though lief had just said you slept two hours, next post you slept a day ;)

Lief Erikson
04-05-2002, 05:23 PM
I originally was thinking of making it a day or so, but I ended up deciding two hours because I wanted to keep what happens between Tessar and Colmade happening at basically the same time as what happens with the rest of the company. It's simpler that way.

Oh yes, here's one small question: how did it happen that cave trolls were fighting in the sunlight? Or orcs either, for that matter? Unless they're specially bred for missions like this, which I suppose is possible also. The battle of the Pelennor Fields for instance I don't think took place after nightfall.

Arat-Falathion
04-05-2002, 05:27 PM
I agree Lief :) I actually made BĂ*renath and Turion go to sleep now quickly because of Tessar :p well well.. I guess it is no problemo..

or the battle of helms deep. There they actually say 'we fight, whether it's dark or light, dry or in rain' or something like that. Some of them don't fear sunlight... (look at the fighting uruk hai :))

Lief Erikson
04-06-2002, 09:57 AM
The Uruk-hai though were a crossbreed of men and orcs formed by Saruman. I don't think Sauron had any.

Um...not really. This was how it was portrayed in the movie.

In the actual books, Uruks were a new elite breed of Orcs bred by Sauron which had greater stature and did not fear the sunlight. They first appeared in the 3rd Age. In fact, 'uruk' had become somewhat a synonym for 'orc' by the time of LotR.

Saruman too had access to these Uruks and had his own army. He also experimented with Half-Orcs or Half-Uruks but these are not to be confused with Uruks. Uruks is a general term for Orcs, and is not a Half-Uruk or Half-Orc. To sum it up, all Half-Orcs or Half-Uruks are Uruks but not all Uruks are Half-Uruks or Half-Orcs.

Lief Erikson
04-06-2002, 03:05 PM
Sorry, I didn't mean to cause a dispute. It is irrelevant.

You're probably right Selwyth, I haven't looked it up. I always did think it was that way though, even before watching the movies. I might be wrong.

Arat-Falathion

Lief Erikson
04-07-2002, 01:18 PM
There's one thing I don't quite understand: is Alfwine in the Pentagrid Forest? Remember, those trees aren't just hostile, they're murderous. Much worse than the Old Forest, for these have been delibrately turned to this way by Istari. They reacted very strongly to the elves presence, and elves are probably more friendly with trees than anyone else. They'd take men or orcs apart in an instant.

Irid al'Menie
04-07-2002, 01:27 PM
then how did tessar get in? or isn't he in the pentagrid.

Besides, have you sent a mail back yet?

Lief Erikson
04-07-2002, 01:36 PM
Actually I was just thinking of writing one. Be with you in a sec . . .

Oh, and by the way, Tessar actually is not in the Pentagrid. He's at Colmade's hut in the hills directly outside the forest.

Lief Erikson
04-07-2002, 01:41 PM
Irid, would you actually be so kind as to check your email now?

Irid al'Menie
04-07-2002, 01:42 PM
Of course I would. As soon as i read your post in the ic thread (and maybe answered myself)

edit: i did, and i didn't get any mail from you :(

Selwythe
04-08-2002, 08:43 AM
Alfwine is where Colmade met Tessar and so on the outskirts of the forest.

I would say that spot can be sighted from Colmade's hut :p

Selwythe
04-08-2002, 09:06 AM
Hey Irid, I think we need to tally our accounts a little. Alfwine followed the trail to the clearing where Tessar met Colmade, where I presume Colmade brought Tessar to his hut by some wizardry (an old man lifting an elf?) while Irid followed the trail to Colmade's hut. A trail can't lead to two places? Or I could have been lost....scary.

Irid al'Menie
04-08-2002, 10:46 AM
Hmmz... You said you went under trees, which i don't think is the case here (it's just by the edge of the forest, not in it). Oh well, just shout, we'll find you :D

Tessar
04-08-2002, 10:27 PM
Just a question but, what the HECK are these "mails" you two keep talking about?! you talk about them all the time and it's driving me crazy!

Irid al'Menie
04-09-2002, 06:14 AM
you know, you can have this e-mail adress, and then you can say 'compose' or something, and type what you have to say, and then press 'send', and the other person gets it... That's a mail :D

No, really now, me and Lief exchange mails (very long mails...) and that is what we talk about.

Tessar
04-09-2002, 12:43 PM
Ok two questions.

1.) Are you a native English speaker?

2.) You mean that you two are pen palls?

Mathron
04-09-2002, 02:04 PM
E-mail is short for Electronic Mail. It is the name of a type of online service that lets people effectively be 'pen pals' over the internet. You can sign up for a free email address at places like www.hotmail.com , mail.yahoo.com , etc.

I think Mathron should change his post, because Alfwine saw two persons, not three :)

Well, as we posted at the same time, I altered my post slightly. :)
It was fine before - Malagar, Slythre, and Harnauro were not the ones Alfwine saw, but had been watching from behind.

Arat-Falathion, that's the real elvish language isn't it?

Irid al'Menie
04-11-2002, 05:06 AM
Lief: there are several 'real' elvish tongues tolkien invented. The main two are quenya and sindarin. What arat said is quenya, but that's all i know... I wouldn't have a clue what it means...

Arat-Falathion
04-11-2002, 05:13 AM
Life, ai! made by Tolkien himself... the ancient tongue of the elves, spoken in Valinor... the ones who traveled to middle earth, or Beleriand at that time developed their language further. Sindarin is the most popular language of these (Sindarin is what Arwen and Aragorn speak to each other in the movie, but when Gandalf talk to the dwelf lord, he sais: "Ando Eldarinwa a lasta quettanya, Fenda Casarinwa!" which is quenya and means: "Elvish gate, listen to my word, dwarvish doorthreshold". And then when that don't work, he sais "mellon" which means friend, but is Sindarin :P Todays elvish-tongue lesson.. :)

- Falathion

Arat-Falathion
04-11-2002, 05:17 AM
I could post some links to pages for which to learn these languages::

http://www.uib.no/People/hnohf/

http://hem.passagen.se/benninge/quenya-english.html

http://www.dragons-inn.org/Ifreann/eng_elf.html

http://www.dragons-inn.org/Ifreann/elf_eng.html

These are only for starters.. the last 3 links are only corpus and translations.. you should check out the first link to get all the rules and so on for the language.. and there are several different Tolkien languages to learn on that first link...

It's an elvish greeting.

I don't think it needs to be night, also, the stars shine day AND night, we just don't see them during the day! ;)

Irid al'Menie
04-12-2002, 09:17 AM
Oh yes, we do, the sun is a star too, just a star that stands so close to us in the universe, we only see her during the day...

Mathron
04-12-2002, 09:56 AM
I believe the greeting is basically "A star shines at the hour of our meeting" - meaning, I suppose, that our meeting is blessed in some way. I do not think it requires it to be night out. :)

Sigh, good thing my character is a Man. I don't understand all these immortal stuff?

Arat-Falathion
04-13-2002, 12:34 PM
yeh, you need to understand the gramma in order to be able to put words together... it is pretty much like finnish structur on sentenses.. which makes no sense.. it is a difficult language to learn, and I am by no means an expert :p

Did I mess up everything with my last post?? :D I miss some peoples posting!! Come on!

Mathron: If I understood your last post correct... the dead people we found by the cottage was already burried. It was the wife of Arat-LumĂ«nion, Arat-BĂ*renath's brother... The cottage belongs to LumĂ«nion, though he is not there, we don't know where he is.. The creature that BĂ*renath followed through the forrest was the Uruk-Hai played by Selwythe...

hope that makes everything clear :p

hey, i just want to say something. If i say something about a necklace or so, irid wore that necklace a long time, but in another rpg she just found it (if that makes sense). (that other rpg is in the second era). There are some other things in the future that will have happened in her past that i haven't talked about yet. Just so you know ;)

Mathron
04-19-2002, 09:30 AM
Selwythe - my apologies for Harnauro's actions. But I'm pretty sure had I let you continue unhindered, Alfwine would be a dead character. It has been made clear the woods are a dangerous place - characters can get away with poking their heads in once, but you really would have no way to reasonably have Alfwine survive without severely altering some of the plot.

I'm terribly sorry for not being able to respond sooner to anything here; in truth I'm severed from the Internet much worse than before. Our house is being almost completely rebuilt and right now me and the rest of my family are living in apartments. Our computers are in what used to be the kitchen now and will be removed from there sometime soon as well. I haven't been to the house for days and there are many other priorities for us now.

I'll be coming back here tomorrow to help Dad move the furniture from one part of the house out to the backyard, so perhaps then I'll be able to send a more full post.

Once again I try to keep this alive... I have the feeling though, that only Mathron and I are still watching over this RPG... so the question is, how much longer do we wait before taking dramatical action? I meam... Can I join?

Lief Erikson
07-23-2002, 12:13 AM
If you like. One thing you should note though as you join in is that we frequently use the same characters in different RPGs. My characters Erenfor and Slythre have both carried on through more than one RPG, so when you introduce a character, you'd best think about him or her. For that character might be entering into another adventure later on.

Sorry to say IÂŽve been away for such a long time, for the same reason as Mathron apparantly... So I see all my characters are in the Pentagrid Tower :) good... Turion is a man yes, he is a ranger, and was actually looking for Aragorn as he met BĂ*renath at the Inn...
Seems like the fight is almost over to me :) and I am a little confused when it comes to my characters and what I should write next... hmm... guess this fighting gives a harder typing skill then the usual typings... ah, well... I shall do my best :D

Thank you all for doing this RPG with me, and I'm very glad it has worked out so well. We'll probably want to discuss another one soon, but personally I don't think I'm quite ready to commit for the next just yet. I need a little time lapse first, in which I can think, plan, and of course, combat the onflowing stream of school work ;) . . .

If there are any ideas about a future one though, go ahead and post it :).

Mathron
09-29-2002, 02:45 AM
Yeah, it has certainly gone well. I'll probably hop in another if it starts up. If creative merit strikes me I may post my own ideas. :) I've had a great time with this one, and hope others will still be around should another begin.

Actualy if you really want Tessar you can have him. You make him much more interesting than I did (But that could just be my horreble wrating skeels ;)). And besides, I mud so much that I'm sure to keep having him throw fireballs or blasting SOMETHING into nothingness...

I deff think that another char is in order *nod self*.

Lief Erikson
10-10-2002, 02:30 AM
No, thanks for the offer, that was very generous, but of course he's your character.

Well, Mathron, if you don't want to play Harnauro and Malagar again then the next RPG is really very open. Kind of like when we did Fangorn Forest all that time ago. I still kind of wish that I had a saved copy of The Great Quest, simply so that I could have a chronological copy of Vardor's demise. But, if wishes were wings . . .

I think our next RPG should probably be something rather new and different, then. What I'd kind of prefer is a little more plot organization and character development and a little less slashing down orcs ;). For an RPG to be interesting, it doesn't have to have a foe that you can counter blade for blade at every turn. Of course, if we have a bunch of new people playing, then they're not likely to understand that. I don't know what it should be . . .

Is everyone certain in their minds that it has to be in Middle Earth?

Selwythe
10-13-2002, 06:38 AM
It is possible to not be in Middle-Earth? Valinor is too boring in its holy peace, if that's what you're thinking ;)

Do any of you belong to a more specialised LotR or WoT RPG website/organisation? (some people call it a Tower.) Don't worry, I'm not planning to join any of yours ;) but I'm just wondering if any of you are in the same ones as me.

Lief Erikson
10-13-2002, 10:48 AM
No, I don't belong to any of those websites. As a matter of a fact, Pentagrid Net was the only RPG that I was doing, and now I'm not working on any.

Also no to your question of whether I was thinking Valinor. I was thinking more along the lines of a world that we invent, which is totally outside of Tolkien's work. A rather radical question, I admit, and I don't know quite how I feel about it myself, but I'm wondering if any of the rest of you are willing to consider it?

And please don't take thirty days before responding ;).

Mathron
10-14-2002, 01:51 PM
My last post seems to have not existed. Hmmph.

Anyway, to some extent I think it would be best to try and remain in middle earth since this is a Tolkien board - and there are so many different ages it isn't that hard to find new settings - but I don't think that is a guaranteed rule. What sort of place were you thinking?
Meanwhile, the Great Quest is still in the archives (here (http://www.tolkientrail.com/entmoot/showthread.php?s=&threadid=902)

Lief Erikson
10-15-2002, 03:54 PM
Thanks for the link :).

I actually didn't have any real idea of what the world would be like in mind, that would have been open to discussion. I'm simply throwing the idea out there for you people to discuss, or reject. I'm fine with staying to Tolkien's world, it's only that lately I was feeling a little bit limited. Particularly during the battle between Tessar and the Nazgul; Tolkien doesn't develop his spirit realm very fully and I don't feel I have any right to do it for him. A world that we all invent the rules to could prove interesting, but I'm fine with going along with another one of the other.

Tessar
10-16-2002, 05:05 PM
Well... My sister (Betsy/Moondancer) writes stories all the time. She has few worlds I could prolly get her to let us use if you guys are interested in it.

They are sort of non-magic worlds unless you are a unicorn (which I have always wanted to be, I have a unicorn craze) or a dragon/dragonman (evil). And there are people who are descended form elves, sailor types, and all sorts of kewl stuff.

Also another plot about that city that sank, can't spell it... Atlantice or some such spelling.

Dono, whatever yalls want. *thinks that the name Tessar would be a great name for a unicorn!!!*

*EDITED*

Was just reading my old posts on Tessar and came on my old desc of him... Oh the pain!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
im new hear can i pleassssssss join in?
if I can than id like to be a
Elf
Name:tessar twelveblade
Age:12 in human years
skilles: carismatic but a bit imature and dosent always stop to think things thrugh (no weght! that sounds to mutch like me! AAAAAAAAA!),knows a lot about healing ,has a dagger but thats all for blades but ok with a staff good shot with bow, has some magic power like fire arows and water arows , is extremly agile and flexibul, sort of strong but not very (hes only 12 you know), loves star gazing
and is a good singer. ok im done now ;)
history: was traviling with parents who were both magishan elfs but we were ambushed during the night and my parents were killed i got away.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I mean I know I'm not a good writer but I can now see why you all wanted me to spell check.... *ugh*. Maybe I should redo that JUST a LOT :). I mean, fire arrows? Ewwwwwwww.... I don't know WHERE I got that from... Prolly a mud or something *shiver*.

Tessar
10-16-2002, 05:35 PM
Race: Elf

Name: Tessar Twelveblade

Age: I'm not sure how old he is right now...

Skills: Healing, swords, a little dagger throwing, an average archer, and he knows both physical magic and (thanks Leif!) the magic of the spirit realm.

Desc: A slim elf with (I don't remember exactly what color they were... I'll just choose a new one) blue eyes that watch the stars often. He is much stronger in magic than he thinks, but he is still not nearly as strong as a true Isatary (sp?). He can be somewhat shy if he doesn't know a person but once he gets to know them he can be a good friend... Well that's all I can think of for now, hard for me with my little RPG exp to go back and redo someone after he has been played a bit.

History: Tessar was traveling with his parents to an uncle, they were bringing a power crystal to him. Along the way, they were ambushed by orcs and Tessar's parents were killed. He ran from the orcs for several days before he met a group of people who sheltered him and he accompanied them on their quest, assisting them with the crude magic he knew. After the quest was complete, he traveled with the former leader of the group and was taught how to use a sword. When the man died (Did he die? I thought he was a human but please correct me if I'm wrong) he traveled alone for a time before he went to Valla (thats the name of the undying lands, right?) and studied under a teacher there. He honed his magical skills, learning much of the spirit realm, and then came back to middle earth, what happened after that is unknown until the time that he stumbled upon his former companions again and helped them keep evil for attaining a powerful book.

Heh, not much better but at least it's spell checked!!!

Lief Erikson
10-16-2002, 06:59 PM
Thanks for the character bio, Tessar, but you'll probably have to move it to the new discussion topic of the new RPG whenever that starts ;).

All right, I guess Middle Earth will be fine, but does anyone have any particular preference as to the location or time period? We should probably discuss these questions in a new topic area, though, because new players who might join in will want to have their say in where and how everything starts out.

Tessar
10-16-2002, 09:32 PM
Hummm... Well like I said, I wouldn't mind another place. But I really don't have a time preff. Just so long as it isn't a god war sort of time. Like the start of the Sil (unless I get to be Eru :p).

So does anyone have an idea for a plot? Also (not that you were) but don't worry about doing one before Tessar was around. I have that other idea I spoke of.

Selwythe
10-22-2002, 09:59 AM
Hey cool, I took 10 days to respond this time, not 30.

What about the Second Age? That time period seems rarely visited. In Numenor, perhaps or in ME to fill the void Sauron left as he went to Numenor?

And sure, definitely start a new thread.

Mathron
10-28-2002, 05:11 PM
I think Selwythe's suggestion is pretty darn good - I would definitely be interested in something set in Numenor, or even in ME during the same time period.

Lief Erikson
10-29-2002, 04:53 PM
I'd be fine with that too. If we did within Numenor, that would be interesting but is liable to end a tragedy. It could have some really neat character development though, and I'd want to reread the part of the Silmarillion that describes those happenings. We'd be working within an already set out plotline, you know.

In Middle Earth, the whole field would be wide open for us to do basically whatever we wanted.

Tessar
11-07-2002, 01:09 AM
I'm chilled with what ever you guys want. But only if Leif could tell me what parts of the sil I would need to read. I never made it very far into the book and most of it I actualy zoned out while reading :o

Mathron
11-07-2002, 02:15 PM
Well, if it took place over in ME during the time of Numenor, you wouldn't need to read much - that area is left pretty much open for us to play with.

Arat-Falathion
11-08-2002, 08:18 AM
I would most deffinately be interested in this as well, sounds very interesting :) Alas! I could introduce my MUME character, Glimdrell... Yes!

Would have to reread the part of Silmarillion that tells of this matter yes...

Lief Erikson
11-13-2002, 01:23 PM
So we have two primary options. One: have the most open Middle Earth story ever, being able to create and destroy kingdoms and make battles and forces of evil and basically whatever we want (Though within Tolkien's realm and abiding by his rules).

Two: have an extremely choreographed story which is far less action oriented and far more plot and character driven. That would be a deep story, and that would be the story of Numenor. It would be detailing what happened in depth, and that would be interesting too.

I'm strongly interested in doing either of these, for the first option would have enormous openess in being able to let our imaginations run wild, and the second option also would be fascinating to do, if we could manage to do it properly. We might have to work out a little of the plot together before starting on that one, if we did it, simply because it's such a deep undertaking.

So I can go either way.

Tessar, if we do the downfall of Numenor, then you'd have to reread the Akallabeth. In my version of the Silmarillion, it starts at page 257. That's one of the other stories in the Silmarillion which aren't part of the Silmarillion itself, but are attached, as they are also part of the history. "Of the Rings of Power and the Third Age" is another of the same, describing in a relatively small amount of space the whole Lord of the Rings saga.

So it'd be like reading a short story.

My feelings generally mirror Lief's. I don't really have the time to put either together myself, but start them happening and I'll join in. :)

Eh, seeing how I have a hard time with the Sil, I would personaly vote for the 'no reading required' one. Also I think I'll loose intrest reeeeally fast if there isn't any action and I have to basicaly walk a pre programmed path.

All right, we can save that one for some time in the future. Besides, I doubt that it would collect as many new players as the other one would anyway.
