You have such good taste in musicals. :D "Les Mis" is one of my favorites, too!! "Les Mis" and (as everyone on this message board already knows) "Into the Woods". hehe :)
As good as Les Miz...Did I really say that or did I say that I hoped it would be as good as Les Miz?
Actually I think a couple of the songs are quite good especially, With His Words, One More Tomorrow and "The Quartet" which is a very intricate quartet sung by Faramir, Merry, Theoden and Eowyn in Edoras. When the president of Halan Entertainment heard each of those songs his comment was "That's a hit." I think it was the strength of those songs which led him to approach my agent about buying the music publishing rights.
I also e-mailed the sheet music to With His Words to a couple of people here on the board and they seemed to be impressed. I hope some of them might share their thoughts.
Now as far as "who is Gandalf in the musical, I am not sure I understand the question. Do you mean who would I like to see play the role of Gandalf if and when the show gets produced?

Could you please E-mail the sheet music to me? You told me you would before: idolovehobbits@yahoo.com
Actually Ben and I are trying to get the sheet music up here on the sight. If it is not available in the next few days I will definitely e-mail it to you.

Nothing can compare with Les Miserables. :p

Les Mis is the only Broadway show I've ever seen, (I live in Idaho, okay?:) ) but if LOTR is even close to it, it should be great.

Les Mis has fantastic music, and comes very close to Jesus Christ Superstar in my list of favourites, but Starlight Express has to be my favourite.
This has nothing to do with The One Ring really, just my opinion.
agburanur,
you are right nothing can compare to an andrew lloyd webber musical...except perhaps root canal surgery without novocaine or some forms of cancer.

Was that sarcasm? I don't know what root canal surgery is!

*notes sarcasm dripping from hama's voice... um, typing*
Yes Agburanar, I would call that sarcasm. A root canal is a very painful form of dental surgery (from what I've heard) and without Novocaine I bet it would almost be unbearable.

Boo.
By the way Khamul, I like your name. It was my second choice, congratulations!

Thanks. :) I figured someone would have it, but no one did. I was looking for the actual name of the Witch-King, but I couldn't find it.
The only reference to the witchking I have heard is the Witch King pf Angmar (I think that is it). As for A.L.W. I loathe the man both personally and professionally (although I have only worked with him once and met him a few times.) His music is derivative at best and plagaristic at worst. Part of this admittedly may be pure envy...but then again what has he done lately. Sunset Bullshitvard?....Puuuuhhhhlllleeeaaassse. One good song does not a musical make. In my obviously not so humble opinion.

Yes, Das is true. I don't like him either but I do like the music in Starlight and JC Superstar, although Cats is tame. Les Mis has good songs but it's v depressing and the whole thing solves nothing, Godspell is a good musical.

I love Godspell!! Just finished up a run of my school's production of it, actually. I was the lighting guy (:, as well as one of the singers for On the Willows since no one in the band could sing worth crap. (:

It's not done often enough in my opinion, congratulations! There is a UK tour at the moment, apprently, but I've not seen it advertised anywhere.

Hama, I've just gained so much respect for you! Now where's my sisters Phantom of the Opera CD so I can destroy it, finally? Grr still hidden ;)

That's a bit extreme. There can be more than one musical in the world, just only One Ring!
You can hear more good music in the first act of Ragtime or the second act of Into the Woods than you can listening to the cast recordings of every ALW musical. Once again in my not so humble opinion.
