Well, I've been noticing some of you seem to be able to speak in Elvish (Quenyan?) and I was wondering where you're learning all these Elvish words, and stuff. Cuz I'm interested in trying to learn some as well . . . Or at least understand some of it . . . .
I sound like an idiot . . . But anyway, if anybody would like to tell me, I'd appreciate it . . .

I think there's an appendix in either LotR or Silmarillion. Also, try this on-line word translator (converts between english and your choice of Sindarin, Teleri or Quenya, though limited):

if you really are serious about learning or understanding quenya, or other languages of Arda, then there is a website named "Ardalambion" which is a serious, scholarly study. There are pages of resources about grammar, structure, lexicons, etc. But be forewarned, these guys are not messing around... Quenya is as complex as any foreign language to learn, and the website reflects this.
The website is http://www.uib.no/people/hnohf/

If you want to learn how to write in Sindarin (Tengwar), this is the site I used to help me. Its really good and pretty simple to follow :)

Great! Thank you all so much! I'm a real klutz with languages, but I'm really interested in Quenya, and I've wanted to try . . .
Ragamuffin: Okay. I'll drop the "I sound like an idiot" line if you want.

I didn't know if you were serious or joking--I just feel bad when people put themselves down just because they're not perfect. Like I am. :D
