How long does it take you to read the whole of Lord of the Rings all in one go. Missing the Apendixes and considering that I am at school all week and work weekends it took me about 2 and a half weeks. Obviously i am not asking for times when you pick it up to when you put it down but roughly.
Mind you it took me about six months to read it the first time all the way through!

I've read it quite often so i can read it in two days if i dont have anything else to do....
Otherwise, it might take me a week.
But the first time was longest for me as well.... i think it might have taken a month....

It took me about 2 months. I really enjoyed takeing that long i wouldnt want to finish it in one week i think that you have to take your time and have breaks everynow and then just to let the idears and the true meaning of the story go over in your head.

In the summer, when I don't have school, it can takes about 4 days. The rest of the time, probably 3-4 weeks.

I've only read it once, and it took me around 2-3weeks. I kind of read RotK nonstop and finished it rather quickly. I took rather long to get through TTT though.;)

I read RotK all the way through form about when Frodo and Sam get caught in the marching Orcs! I litteraly could not put it down till I finished. This was not ofcorce helped by the fact I had started reading about 11 at night! I didn't get finished till well after two in the morning!

It usually takes me 3 days. I suppose I could do it faster if I wouldn't sleep 12 hours each night ;).

I don't remember the first time I read it, but the last time I read it it took 3 weeks. Not too quickly at first (these things must be savored), but from Book 4 onward -- every spare moment! Then slowed back down for the Appendices.

Reading it the second time around, with a full-time job and other obligations, I would say it took me about 8 days. The first time, in high school, when life was relatively uncomplicated, I'd say it took me about three days. I remember being totally absorbed. Actually, I remember more about reading The Hobbit, which, luckily, I read before LoTR. A high school friend recommended it, but I thought it sounded stupid. Still, for some unknown but now thankful reason, I picked it up at the shopping mall bookstore and, while waiting for my parents, started to read it. The shopping mall disappeared and I was in a whole other world. I even read it in the car on the way home (I wasn't driving). Ah, well. So much for good memories. I often wish I could have that initial reading experience back. Sorry if this got off the topic.

When I read it a few months ago, I think I took about a month to read it. My sister was reading at the same time and she had bought it, so she had first priority. I had read it a few times before, so I knew what would happen. I did skip the intro and some of the appendices. It would be nice to read it again, cause now I have read the Silmarillion and Unfinshed Tales.

A few days or a year.
Your time spent on it makes the difference not the book. GADZ!

I guess it's a week, but I'm not sure. I didn't calculated the number of the days.

If I've got the time, then probably 3 or 4 days. Otherwise, probably a couple of weeks. The first time took a couple of months.

The first time - around a month. I was working full time and studying part time, so I found it quite difficult to fit it in.
Actually, it took me about four weeks or so to read the first 600 pages. Something must have suddenly snapped in me brain...

The first time took about a week and a half, but then again it was summer and I didn't have anything else to do. Get up, read some Tolkien, eat, read, step outside for a bit, read, you get the idea. I think I finished The Two Towers in about 2 days, I was so into it. But I did miss a few things that I picked up on the second time I read it. I went slower this time and it took about a month of easy reading.

Haha...three days? I never get finished in less than a month. I suppose I could finish it in a week or less if I tried. I read FOTR in about 2 or less days. But the thing is, I'm weird. I get very caught up in the story and have to put it down so I can stop to visualize. Needless to say, this takes awhile and I often stop in the middle and then forget. Plus, in my case, visualizing takes anywhere from 2 minutes to a week. This summer, I'm going to try to finish all three in three days...wish me luck! :p

The first time it took me about 4 months. I could only read at night, in my bed with my little lamp that I had to turn off very time I heard something. Didn't want to get caught :) It was VERY difficult to put it down after every chapter in order not to look like a total zombie in the morning.
If I have every time to devote to it, it would take me two days.
