hello again,

im sure its in a book that i have not read but what of the other two wizards that came over in the second age? can someone please explain where were they in lotr and why were they not mentionted. i mean Mithrandir, Saruman and Radagast i know but the other wizards? Sarumam metions that Gndalf would not be happy till he claimed the rods of 5 wizards etcetc.

please can you answer this its been bugging me for ages....

Little is known of the Blue Wizards. They arrived in ME about the same time as Saruman, and journeyed into the East with him. They were never seen again in Western Middle-earth. No one knows what they did over in Rhun or how long they stayed there.

Also, their names were Alatar and Pallando.

There is some information in Unfinished Tales with some extra details in Letters and HoME XII.

Well according to the ME card game they're called something like Pallando (the deep blue) and something else (oops forgot)

Pallando contains the an elvish root for blue and I think the other one did too.

Well Pallando and Alatar became too manlike.
They were captured by the cultures they served in and thus became like real old men.
That was one of the dangers assuming a man's form
they could succomb to the desires and habits of man.
Ultimately they thought they were men anyway.
Only through his strength of will did Mithrandir maintain his sanity and goals.
