If you had an absolutley nightmare cast list for FOTR what would it be. Imagine the front page of Empire revealed the cast of Jackson's upcoming movie as..

Frodo: Michael Jackson...with Bubbles the chimp to provide on screen comic moments for the younger members of the audience.

Boromir: Hulk Hogan (does a clothesline on the orcs)

I'll have to think about this, but for Merry and Pippin in a take-off of LOtR (a la Moxie and Pepsi), I'd love to see the guys who played Lenny and Squiggy (Michael McKean and and David L. Lander), on Laverne and Shirley. I wasn't a big fan of that show, but those guys always cracked me up.

I think that suits their personalities, but trust Paul to want to be Frodo, the hero. I guess pete would be good as Boromir, as he gets killed early on. George would be good as Gandalf, as his was into mystical things.

Okay, an explanation for mine. :D

John as Frodo because... well he had that megalomaniac "I'm in charge" thing going on... less obvious than Paul, but it was still there.

Paul as Sam because of the song-writing duo - Lennon-McCartney.

Merry and Pippen taken by George and Ringo because the hobbits are the fab four.

Pete Best as Boromir because he was once part of the fellowship of sorts, but got dropped. Stuart doesn't really count, because he couldn't play for shite.

Aragorn as George Martin because George M was responsible for quite a bit creatively, plus he was the "king" in the studio.

Legolas & Gimli as roadies because they're considered the "fifth beatles" as well. And because they helped Aragorn to find them when they were lost. An analogy of sorts! ;)

And Magic Alex as Gandalf... well because John was utterly obsessed with his toys for a while. And because he has the prefix of "magic" before his name!
