If the characters were transport from one realm to the other
who do you think would be who?

AND why.

Pippin and Merry = C3PO and R2D2 respectively

Pippin is a knuckle head at times and Merry is a little more practical.

Strider = Han Solo. Rangers are seen as roguish, well traveled, ship captain, gets the princess, good with a weapon.

Sam ( Maybe Beorn) = Chewie one loyal bastard if you ask me. As for Beorn that should be obvious.

Leia/Amidala = Eowyn a girl who can handle a man's job

Sauron = Emperor obvious

Saruman = as senator Palpaltine

Vader = Witch King as above( maybe not see below)

Boba Fett= maybe Kamul or Witch King)

( Maybe Vader is Mouth of Sauron and Fett is the Witch King since he tracked his prey like the Witch King)

Elrond= Mace Windu important but not directly involved.

Boromir= Lando Faltered but redeemed himself

gollum= selacious crump both evil wizened creatures

Jabba/ Rancor = Balrog

Eomer/Imrahil= Wedge

Too tired to continue need some time to think about the some others like

Frodo/ Gandalf OBI Wan/ Yoda/ Luke thing

Vader = Saruman, cause he was good and then became bad :)

Come now, think about this for one minute. The Lord of the Rings became a cult favorite in the 60's, picked up and read by young people everywhere (hate to admit this, but I was one of them). Lucas was a Baby Boomer. He was there, influenced by it all. He has stated that he used the LOTR as a primer, and blue print to create Star Wars. I also remember the first time I saw Star Wars. The film was actually not something that many people knew about, so the theater was empty. Not a soul there, but I was totally blown away. As someone who had grown up with Star Trek, and other SF classics, SW was the first special effects movie, with a story, and it just astonished me. It took about a week, and word of mouth, and than Star Wars took off at the box office, and the franchise never stopped. Still there was nothing to compare to with that first sensation of seeing that film, until now that is . . .

Sauron vs. an Ewok -- that would be cool.

Aragorn with a lightsaber?
Pippin whistling in incomprehensible squeals?
Saruman using the force to make things or people fly around (oh wait...)
sweetness. pure sweetness
