Pretty funny! My 2 fave parts: the muffin man part and the Information song! "Please stay off of the grass, shine your shoes, wipe your....face!" I also love how Duloc is a takeoff on Disneyworld...notice the souvenir shop, music playing over the loudspeakers and the guy dressed up as King Farquat!

I hope there will be part two. I loved the way Shrek took care of those rival knights. :D

Hey! I'm 15 too.

I think the best part was with all of the freaks when ponokio:confused: Said he was a real boy. And when the princess was beating on Robin Hood.

If you like stupid comedy in computer animation, yes.

Let's see...Shrek II is scheduled for a 2004 summer release. It was finally "confirmed" today. Looks like all the characters from the original will be returning.

Shrek II? What will it be about?

Anthy Rose

They haven't finished writting the script yet, so who knows...the same creative team is behind it as the first one though, so it should be interesting to see.

Wow, that's the year I graduate! *gasps* How eerie . . .

Shrek II? I liked Shrek, but not that much. My favorite part is the Gingerbread Man scene. LOL :D :D :D

Am I the only one that didn't like it and thinks that the moral was degrading to ugly people!!!:(

Starr Polish
02-08-2002, 12:44 AM
How is it degrading? Shrek loves her even though she isn't beautiful...

Evenstar
02-08-2002, 04:26 AM
Yeah...but for them to be together she turns ugly!!! Part of the spell was that when she has her forst true kiss, she will turn into her true self...which ws being ugly...and she was ashamed of her ugly side and couldn't even tell Shrek who was an ogre!!! Why couldn't she have stayed pretty and them together!!!

Starr Polish

The whole point of the movie is that she falls in love with someone who is 'ugly', then realizes that he can love her, even if she is 'ugly', because she's still beautiful on the inside.

I was blown away by the film the first time through, as you can see here (http://cynima.dhs.org/reviews/shrek.html). After many viewings, though... while the visual power and the more touching moments remain intact, and it's still a wonderful movie, it just doesn't age too well. It's not timeless, and like The Princess Bride, while it would remain great, it would lose some of its power with an audience say, ten years from now.

That is to say: Wonderful film. But it gets old quickly.

I love Shrek! It is definitely worth seeing as there arn't many good movies these days. When I got it out on video I watched it 2 times, which is strange for me. The donkey was the best character by far, he is so cool. The WWF fighting scene was good. What was that thing about onions? Something like ogres are like onions with many layers. I hope Shrek 2 is good.

Shrek was great! My all time favorite was the dragon. So cool! But then I've got a thing for dragons, so that's only natural :) The line about the loaded dragon in the end cracks me up every time.

I don't know when the second one is released but I'm unsure I'll go and see it. I usually avoid sequels.

I was pleasantly surprised by Shrek. I was expecting another mindless kid's movie, but instead it had lots of references for older people. Ahem... "Contestant #3 likes pina coladas and getting caught in the rain." If you don't get that, download "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" by Rupert Holmes. Then you'll understand. Overall Shrek was the best kid's movie I've seen in a long time. I might actually go to the theater to see the sequel.
