I am currently working on a sculpture of Gandalf. Here's my question: do you think I should have him wearing his ring? He was wearing it, of course, but it wasn't really visible. Whatcha think?

having it subtley done, so the eye thinks it could be there or just an illusion......

I would say no.
But make sure that the sleeve is covering it, just to establish that he did wear it.
Will you send us pics once you've finished?

If you're drawing Gandalf The White you could justify the Ring being there, as it could be seen when he was leaving Middle-earth. Otherwise I'd just leave it out.

All my half decent middle earth art ends up in the Lothlorien section of the Tolkien Trail. I think I may have the ring shown subtelly, covered up or something as it was suggested.

Very good idea.
