I can't believe they're making a live-action movie of it, how exciting. I just wish I could get into the site (stupid Warner Bro.). Is anyone else here looking forward to seeing it?

I severely doubt I'll go watch it, unless it's extremely highly recommended to me by others with similar film tastes.

So, has anybody seen it yet? I saw it tonight and it was umm, a kiddie flick to say the least. It wasn't even that funny. Oh well, Scooby Doo is still one of my favorite cartoons...

Well it is based on a kids cartoon...
I don't think I'll go see it - as much as I liked Scooby Doo as a kid - cos it's got Freddie Prinze Jnr and Sarah Michelle Geller in it.

Not to be a Scooby Doo purist or anything, but I did see a few things in previews that were very unlike the cartoon, in terms of characterization and events. I mean, I know the movie doesn't have to go along exactly, but still we all know how frustrating it is to sit and watch something a be unable to help but think "wow, they have completely changed it."

Well, everyone I've talked to who saw it despised it, especially those who liked the cartoons. Somehow, I don't think I'll be seeing it.

Scooby Don't. I feel so bad for Sarah Michelle Gellar and Linda Cordellini, two brilliant actresses stuck in this, this monstrousity! I also feel bad for Sarah for being with that asshole Freddy Prinze Jr (I'm available Sarah!) and for Linda for having been on the greatest show in TV history (Freaks and Geeks) and having it cancelled. Hopefully they'll both get some quality film work soon. Meanwhile there's no way in hell I'm seeing this, not for all the scooby snacks in the world.

Did anyone ever see the Young Scooby Doo? I can't remember what it was called, but it really sucked!
And I thought I recognised the girl playing Thelma!

I won't be going to see Scooby-Doo. I reckon that guy who is supposed to be Shaggy doesn't look like him at all. And that guy with the blonde hair (Freddy??) looks like an idiot. I look forward to seeing the reviews. I think I'll go see Men in Black 2 instead.

Freaks and Geeks should have never been cancelled, and Linda Cardillini never have been put in this movie. Too bad. I heard the Mathew Lillard did a good job playing Shaggy, and apparently, his voice is almost identical to Casey Casum, who did the original Shaggy.
I won't be seeing it though. Maybe on a lonely Saturday night I'll catch it on HBO or something.

I'm considering getting into this film, seeing the Harry Potter trailer and walking out for a refund...

Yeah, the Harry Potter preview is about the best part of the movie. The only slightly funny part is *SPOILER ALERT (as if anyone cares, but still..)* when they get their spirit things back ( the evil guys stole them from their bodies) and the spirits go to the wrong bodies, so Daphne is Fred, and Shaggy is Velma, and so on. Other than that, I didn't even chuckle throughout the rest of the movie.

Aww, it's too bad it's not good.
I was surprised when I realized the Freaks and Geeks girl was Velma, and I was glad to see her in a new role. Hopefully this movie will lead to more roles for her. And I agree, I saw Freddy Prinze Jr. on Rosie when she had the cast on and he just comes across as a jerk, and SMG is so pretty and seems really nice.

Bop: Its Velma not Thelma :p
and I believe you are refering to "A pup named scooby doo" which was acutally quite funny and entertaining.
If you want to talk about bad Scooby Doo cartoons, look at the new Scooby Doo movies. They suck. Last one I saw was that Zombie Island one and it was pretty bad. Most of the other movies were pretty bad too (except the one with the boo brothers was ok).
Also, "13 ghosts of scooby doo" series was horrible.

Well I just saw it last night and I thought it was an ok movie. There were some funny parts, but its not all that great. Though some of my friends think its the best thing since Black Knight  .

Whoa, if they actually thought Black Knight was good, they must be mental or something! Not that I actually saw Black Knight, I just saw the previews and it looked extremely stupid...

They pride themselves on being mental, not that dissimilar from a few certain Mooters.

That's my sentiments exactly. Stupid blasted Hanna Babera for introducing Scrappy Doo.

I know, I'll never understand why tv and movie people do that. You have something that works and has been very successful, but instead of doing more of the same you redo the whole concept and end up ruining it!

I loved this movie. I laughed the whole way through.

Hanna Barbera isn't that good anyway. I mean lookit what they did to The Hobbit and The Return Of The King! They did an ok job with The Hobbit I guess because it's all in brown and earthy hobbity colors(including the green of the fro-I mean elves). But I've seen the back of ROTK and it does NOT appeal to me. Gollum's green and Frodo's nose is huge and it looks like he has road burn acros his face instead of dirt.
But I think that Scooby's eyes are VERY weird lookin'. He looks like a fashion model, NOT what a dog is supposed to look like. From the pictures I have seen it looks like they tried to hard to copy the original scooby look. The clunky shoes and short skirts for the gals and FREAKY bell bottoms for the guys. It doesn't appeal to me at all.

Despite my earlier post, I did go and see the movie (I took my little sister  ) It was OK. I enjoyed the Harry Potter trailer. No TTT trailer  Some parts were plain embarrasing (Shaggy and Scooby umm, passing wind for example). SMG looked beautiful as usual. That Mr. Bean guy was funny. The most amusing part was who was the evil guy. Wait for the video if you want to see it.

I saw it, it was alright. Nothing like the cartoon, and the plot was kinda dumb. The only person like their real character was Shaggy. Couldn't they have done just a little better with the casting for Daphne??? My uncle(Scooby fanatic) liked it( ). Maybe alright, is the wrong word...
I did like the farting seen though!:D
