i can't find angband on the map is it there?

I don't think it shows it, but I would say that it was somewhere north of Ard-Galen.

Indeed Angband is not in the map published in The Silmarillion, but anyone has the War of the Jewels on hand, on page 331, there is a group of three high peaks surrounded by clouds north of Dor-na-Fauglith (a/k/a Anfauglith, formerly Ard-galen). I think it's also in the map in The Lost Road, but I have to look for the book in my stacks. :D

Of course he had a wife. We were espoused before the creation of the world. Anyway, he was a fine looking Maia in his time. sigh
