All I really know about him that he was born in the 1920's, joined the RAF and fought in the second world war, became a scholar and edited the writings of his father.
He is still alive under an alias, I don't know if he wrote his own books but he wrote essays on his fathers mythology and published them (Along with his fathers other writings) in the Silmarillion, Unfinished tales and the twelve History of Middle Earth books.

Christopher Tolkien was for many years a fellow of New College, Oxford, where he taught Old English (Anglo-Saxon) and Old Norse, and was my tutor in the latter subject for a couple of years in the early 70s. Shortly after that, following his father's death, he retired from teaching to concentrate on editing his father's unpublished manuscripts, beginning with The Silmarillion and continuing with Unfinished Tales and subsequently the 12 volumes of The History of Middle Earth. In his own right his principal publication was, if I remember correctly, a scholarly edition of The Saga of King Heidreck the Wise - a 12th? century Old Norse text.
As Inoldonil correctly says, he now lives somewhere in France.
