Lord Theseus

So, a few comments on the movie, from the last trailer. Please tell me if I am interpreting these things incorrectly
First, it seems that they have eliminated Glorfindel. This saddens me, for he was my favorite of the elves. It looks like they have replaced him with Arwen who rescues Frodo from the Black Riders at the Ford?. Hmmm..not to fond of that either.
Also, no offense to whoever plays Galadriel, but she's sorta ugly. ( I think she's the one with golden hair eh?)
Gandalf looks fine to me. It is mentioned many times in the book that he looks old, bent, wizened. And does anyone have a link for the place where i can verify the whole "wizard-kebob thing"?

Psst....Theseus... I'd be careful with the personal comments. I believe the actress who plays Galadriel has a following on this board.(But I know what you mean.);)
I really don't think the trailers provide enough information to conclude that they edited Glorfindel. Be sad if they did.
Was Gandalf Magneto in the X-Men movie?

Yes Ian McKellen was Magneto in X-Men.
I've heard that Arwen accompanies Glorfindel rather than replaces him, which would be cool.
Cate Blanchette (the actress playing Galadriel) actual looks much better without the make-up. I totally agree the Galadriel of the movies doesn't look as beautiful as the text makes her, but then no one can. You can't get a human to play a member of a Race that simply exceeds ours in beauty. Special effects would help. All the same, Cate Blanchette is far more beautiful without the make-up, and in my opinion more like Galadriel. Some pictures of her can be found here (http://theonering.net/movie/cast/blanchett.html) on theOneRing.net .
She starred in Bandits recently, if you've seen that. Great movie.

I agree with Thesues on Gandalf, they did a good job on Gandalf. I must admit though that I was a bit dissapointed with Merry when I saw the first few hobbit pics. I also think that Elrond could look a LITTLE bit less strict and grim, he's an elf for goodness sake.

Her nose is a little... ponderous, but I think she can fit the part.
I thought the pictures of arwen make her look like an anemic priss with a gothic tan and too much blush... but that's just me too.
Did anyone else notice that the actor playing Eowen (http://theonering.net/movie/char/eowyn.html) looks incredibly old for the part? If that's what she looked like, I can't imagine what faramir was thinking.

Wait a minute... faramir was killed by a troll. Right Inoldil? So how...
The Rohirrim must be into the whole nectophilia thing too.
Huh. Does anyone else imagine that nose comment will get me into more trouble than that time I figured out why Kelsey Stevens likes dune...
Better leave that one unsaid.

Thanks Inoldonil, you're right, she looks much better in those pictures.
Does anybody have any conclusive evidence on Glorfindel?
And the link for the wizardkebob?

I like the way the hobbits look, they sort of look like hobbits.
I dont think Arwen should be helping Glorfindel at all, its looks to me that she is doing the whole job. And wasent it Boromir that was the hansome one in the book, I think he looks ugly!!

LOL I MUST agree with THAT Miriel, Boromir is oooogly.
No Faramir was NOT killed by a troll, Beregond of the Guard was ATTACKED by a troll in the last battle at the gates of Mordor but then Pippin killed it and almost got killed himself but no one died from Troll attack in LOTR that we know of by name.
