http://www.lordoftherings-soundtrack.com is the new site that's up... not much there yet

It's a very short clip, but initial thoughts:
- If this is what we're going to hear as we see Sam and Frodo leaving Amon Hen, I think it's going to fit damn well.
- Is this song also going to be a recurring melodic motif throughout the film? Have we heard the theme that will immediately make people think "Lord of the Rings"? It's simplistic, but I can't call it unoriginal (excuse double-neggy) because I can't think of anything else with a similar melody right off the bat...

In my brother's words: 'That was pretty powerful'. That's a great sound and very fitting for the Lord of the Rings.

That's the song that'll be during the credits. Her other song is the Arwen/Aragorn one, which I'm pretty sure is in Elvish. I was hoping this one would be too. I dunno, it just doesn't sound right, sounds too pop musicish for LOTR, but then it's only a 30 second clip, so it's not really fair to pass judgement yet.

I think Enya will do very well. We must have faith.

Right or wrong, the soundtracks of period pieces and fantasy movies are often saddled with modern, radio-friendly pop songs.
That said, Enya's style is a lot better suited to The Lord of the Rings than some generic flavor-of-the-month sensation.
Someone else to consider (as if I had any say in future soundtracks!) is Loreena McKennitt … her best stuff is beautiful, and I'd imagine she could do some amazing LotR music.

I'd really like to here Lisa Gerrard on this soundtrack, but alas, she isn't as famous as she deserves to be, probably because she's been smart enough to leave pop music alone

Right on!! Pop music sucks!!! :p :) :p :) :p
She has a great voice, I'm not surprised shes not popular in the UK, then again the UK's full of gormless pop fans who can't appreciate talent.
It will be interesting to hear the sindarin song and her attempts at capturing a Middle Earth feel to the song.

As for the oppinion of pop music I must say that I dislike most of it too.
Now,with that said, I think that if the rest of the sound track is like what I heard then I should enjoy the music every bit as much as the movie if not more. (Depending on how the movie actually turns out ;) )
