pick some songs that you think would be appropriate
for LOTR

not ones written FOR LOTR like the ones for led zepellin, blind guardian and rush ( they have a song called rivendell)

its JUST the title that should be considered not the content of the song

white witch-savage /for galadriel

hicktown-talas/ for the residents of bree

wrapped around your finger-the police/ for the one ring

a world of fantasy-triumph/ for middle earth

before the storm-queensryche/ fpr minas tirith

man in the wilderness-styx/ for aragorn

castle wall-styx/ for minas tirith

wake up the mountain-helloween/ for mt.doom

over the mountains-ozzy/ for the misty mountains

the cut runs deep-deep purple/ the morgul knife

architure of aggresion-megadeth/ for sauron

marching out-yngwie malmsteen/ for the armies of mordor

i am a viking- yngwie malmsteen/ eomer

where ever i may roam-metallica/ for aragorn

struggle within-metallica/ for frodo

black is the color of my true love's hair-traditional/ from arwen

forever is a long time -yngwie malmsteen/ for the elves

i'm gonna follow you -pat benetar/ sam to frodo

the black horsemen- king diamond/ for the black riders

crystal ball-styx/ for the palantir

ridning on the wind- judas priest/ for the aerial nazgul

gowan-criminal mind/ for any of the bad guys

southern man -neal young- the haradirrim

night ranger-night ranger/ for aragorn

evil genius- pat benetar/ sauron/saruman

eagle fly free-helloween/ for the eagles of course

ghost riders in the sky-tradional-/the nazgul

menatlly yours-savatage-/ for servants of sauron

for those who dare-chastain/ the fellowship

that's enough for me

There is a thread already about this. Infact a lot of the newer topics are just repeats, but of course no one expects you to go through 8 pages :D Just thought I'd let you know....

Really Anduin? Well I did look, but I cannot find it on the new board, although it must be here somewhere. Oh well I'll just post a link to it on the old board. I didn't say that the first thread was better than this one, or that you shouldn't have posted this (because if i couldn't find it here, how could anyone? :D). I was just saying.
Well anyone, if you are curious go here Music that reminds you of LOTR (http://pub2.ezboard.com/fbenjaminstolkienboardlordoftheringsbooks.showMess ageRange?topicID=30.topic&start=1&stop=20)

come sail away, by Styx - for any & all Elves. Especially Earendil.

dust in the wind, by Kansas - for Galadriel after the "i pass the test" line.

in the arms of sleep, by Smashing Pumpkins - for Sam & Frodo outside Mordor.

8 pages? this place has gotten huge in my (long) abscence...

For me, LOTR is just one big Enya soundtrack. I was so happy when I heard that she's doing some of the music for the movie!

Other songs that make me think of LOTR:

1,000 Oceans by Tori Amos

Night Ride Across The Caucasus by Loreena McKennitt

Closing Time by Semisonic (really! the theme of change fits nicely with LOTR)

Just a Girl by No Doubt (Eowyn!)
