I always imagined them like animated trees, with skin like bark andlong arms and legs. This is off-topic, but I never thought the little discussion board logo guy up there fit the description too much.

In my mind they look like trees too. Unfortunately, they sometimes come across in my imagination like the trees that threw the apples at Dorothy and Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz. They were rather nasty trees.

I always thought the Ents were tree-ish. I wonder how long it will be b4 we see a good movie still of him?

I believe the ents will be kept firmly underwraps like the rest of the CG characters, such as Gollum and the Balrog. I personally can't wait to see what the storming of Isengard will look like.
