Personally, I am a huge fan of his movies. I guess the first film I saw was Goodfellas when I was like 12, by then I noticed that his style of filmaking is unique. Unlike other filmakers, he knows how to create a shot in a way that you can tell inmediately that that shot was done by him.
Well, the purpose of this thread is that those of you who know who Scorsese is and enjoy his films post your opinions or your favorite scorsese movie, quotes etc.
oh. . . . and has anybody seen "After Hours"??

If you can find it, watch Who's That Knocking at My Door?
And of course there is Taxi Driver and The Last Temptation of Christ....

I think I have never seen a Scorcese movie, which one would you recommend the most?

I'd say GoodFellas, but this is coming from someone who, shame on me, has never seen Taxi Driver or Raging Bull.
Didn't much like Gangs of New York, though.

I didn't care for 'Gangs' either.
Lalaith, any I named above would be good.

Taxi Driver is one of the most powerful films I've ever seen, and easily my favorite movie by Scorsese. There's also The Last Waltz, a radiant tribute to the musical group The Band, and one of the best rock'n'roll docs ever made.
Another favorite, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, a gentler movie than what most people think of as typical Scorsese.

How could I forget The Last Waltz! It is one of the best R&R docs!

I would suggest Cape Fear, Goodfellas, or Last Temptation of Christ.

Absolutely. I haven't seen it in a really, really long time, so my memory of it is fuzzy at best. But it received tons of accolades....and still does I suppose. :D

oooooooh what a classy thread:D
Gangs is definately his best, after it left the cinema there was a brief period of Taxi Driver being equal, but now that GoNY has come out on dvd it slaughters every other of his movies (they still are awesome though:p )
hmmmm Taxi Driver was absolutely awesome... beware though because there are some stupid versions that skimp on the violence on the end scene, you dont want that... you need to see Travis kill;)
Goodfellas was his next best and ****ing rocked... his other movies are all well worth the watch but if your like me you get preoccuppied with Gangs and it rules your life:(
DEFINATELY WATCH GANGS AND LOOK FOR PRIEST VALLON!!:D
