This movie is great. I saw it about 10 years ago with some friends and loved it, but didn't see it again until a few weeks ago. Then I rented it and watched it about 5 times until I memorized the plot and most of the songs. This is one of those wonderful movies that is both entertaining and deep, and you notice more great things each time. There is a lot to enjoy: story, songs, dancing, humor, political implications, and character development.

Its a Disney musical starring Ralph Maccio... that is about all you need to know, hehe.

Seriously though, you are right it really isn't half bad. Worth a rental on a bored rainy night.

It's a wonderful show for teenage (or former teenage) girls to watch because there's all these beautiful boys that can sing and dance! :) And for a Disney movie it stays surprisingly close to actual events.
