Every time I go to one of the old legacy Tolkien sites and get teh various page errors I always wonder if they will be back or they are done. Good to see this oneis back online after a few days of not being able to connect.

…Good to see this oneis back online after a few days of not being able to connect.Really? I am extremely interested in this, Snowdog. I’m on the site most every day, if only for a few minutes, to check on things. I don’t always post, because I don’t want to be the only one voice posting; but I’ve had no problems connecting.

What did you experience, may I ask, beginning when, and for how long?

I do not have been locked out several days like Snowdog reports, but I did get an error message yesterday afternoon saying the site could not be reached, no explanation to why. In the evening it all was fine on my end, but I can't recall whether I accessed in on Saturday, I think I did but am uncertain.

Yes - when I first saw Snowdog's post, I wondered if it was the "end of the month" problem we were having some time back... with all the bots eating up our bandwidth. But then I got the same thing Earniel reports about not being able to access the site. I didn't note which day it was.

I don't remember exactly, but the first time it had some domain re-route. When I refreshed it spun the wheel for minutes before giving me a 'gateway timeout'. On later days at random times it just immediately came up with the stock windows 'could not connect' page.

Thought the site had died as I was getting an expired domain when I loaded the page. With MinasTirith.com crashing and the domain expiring, I see it is for sale for $6500! Ouch!

Ah, the 'tolkientrail' part of the url has been dropped. Updated my fav which I have been importing since 2000.

Yes, we had quite a bit of a crash. Ben is still working on getting everything back up again.

The forum is ok with the edited link. are you referring to the old main page?

Yes, my old saved link of https://entmoot.tolkientrail.com/ still doesn't work. Maybe I beter just change it around.

But I'm glad Entmoot is back. For entirely selfish reasons I'd love the Entmoot to make it to my twentieth anniversary of joining Entmoot next month.

Still one of the best things I ever did.

Yeah, that was the one I had in my bookmarks since the beginning of the century.
