I learned of this just today.
Apparently there is support to declare G.K. Chesterton and J.R.R. Tolkien saints in the Catholic Church. This from last Saturday in Aletia (https://aleteia.org/2018/07/14/will-tolkien-and-chesterton-be-declared-saints/), and this from October 2017 in the Portuguese Tolkien Brasil (http://tolkienbrasil.com/noticias/diversas/carta-do-arcebispo-que-pode-iniciar-a-canonizacao-de-tolkien/). (I am not fluent in Portuguese, and for others like me who suffer this deficiency, here is an English translation, courtesy of Google (https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Ftolkienbrasil.com%2Fnoticias%2Fdive rsas%2Fcarta-do-arcebispo-que-pode-iniciar-a-canonizacao-de-tolkien%2F&edit-text=&act=url).)
There is even a website, Cause for Tolkien (https://causefortolkien.org/), registered by someone in Arizona. (It is not possible to tell who: the registrant is by proxy.)
