Don’t know anywhere else to put this. Too good to pass up. Source: KATU, Portland, Oregon (http://www.katu.com/news/local/Womans-car-attacked-by-self-identified-high-elf-battling-evil-259598811.html?mobile=y) via BoingBoing (http://boingboing.net/2014/05/19/extremely-high-elf-battles.html)Woman’s car attacked by self-identified “high elf” battling evil

The last thing the woman ... probably expected when she got up Tuesday morning was that she would be attacked by a sword-wielding elf.

But that’s what happened around 7 a.m. ...

A man dressed in chain-mail with a helmet, shield and carrying a sword and staff ran into traffic and started attacking her car.

She called 911, reporting that “a pirate” was attacking her car.

[The man] told officers that he wasn’t a pirate but a “high-elf engaged in battle with the evil Morgoth.”
He was a “high-elf” all right.

It was daylight, and he attacked first, so it must be either Dagor Aglareb (http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/d/dagoraglareb.html) or Nirnaeth Arnoediad (http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/n/nirnaeth.html).

*snickers*

'High' elf indeed.

I'd like to hear the woman's call with her insurance, that ought to be a conversation they don't often get.

I think the "high" part is much more likely than the "elf" part.

Can you provide a link to an article with pictures? :D

How great would it be if this guy's roommate turns up somewhere wearing an iron crown and badgering people on the street?

Can you provide a link to an article with pictures? There is an article recently posted at New York Daily News (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/high-high-elf-stabs-portland-woman-car-sword-article-1.1797157) with two photographs; however, it is difficult to make out what’s happening in them.

No, wait, he granted an interview to the magazine Vocativ (http://www.vocativ.com/underworld/crime/exclusive-interview-elf-dropped-acid-jousted-car/?ModPagespeed=noscript). (More photos at NY Daily News (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/elf-explains-drug-fueled-sword-attack-car-article-1.1800760), which reprints portions of the interview.) That could be unwise, because the first article said, “He was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment and released.” It might have been set aside as a mere moment of youthful indiscretion. Now it will be harder to leave this incident behind. Ah, well, perhaps he has found his life-work, and this is his big break.

I'd like to hear the woman's call with her insurance, that ought to be a conversation they don't often get.The woman’s insurer could sue him to recover their damages. If you’re driving an automobile under the influence of drugs or alcohol and cause damage to your car or someone else’s, or property damage, or worst of all to someone else, US automobile insurance policies typically exclude coverage: it’s illegal, and they don’t pay for damages you cause committing illegal acts. (They’ll pay to restore you or your property for someone else’s illegal acts, but not yours.)

I’d like to hear that claims call, too. :p

That does kinda look like a Noldo, though, doesn’t it? (Image did not embed)

Fëanorean, probably. :D They always attacked without thinking it through first...

Definitely Fëanorean. :p
Although he didn't claim to be an M-e elf at all, but some high elf of his own making - but sharing some of the M-e elf traits, though :D
