In the movie's Gollum always looks short but if you think about it he always has his legs bent under him. So if he were to stand on his legs like a normal person would he be tall or short?

Gollum is an early decedent of the hobbits so he would have a short side to him but then his race could of been tall before evolving into hobbits

Also he got so skinny from being in his cave and doing whatever he was doing his legs could of gotten longer.

The ring also could of helped him grow longer legs.

So what do you think? Was Gollum tall or short if he stood on his legs like a human, elf, dwarf, hobbit, ent, orc, goblin etc.?

Gollum's a Hobbit and thus small. I think it'd be very unlikely for him to have been even a particularly tall one. Small stature is also more favourable for moving underground.

And while being thin can create the idea of being taller, adult humans do not continue to grow once they reach their adult size. The Ring doesn't bestow such favours either, it takes rather than gives.

Gandalf thought the society Gollum had originally come from as an early family of Stoors if I'm not mistaken. And they were not even the tallest race of Hobbits.

So Hobbit-size it is for me.
