I have'nt read any of these books yet. But.. Just got Book one of "The Book of the New Sun" "Shadow of the Torturer" and "Claw of the Conciliator" These are Nebula and World Fantasy, Award Winners. Any opinions?

When I say just begun, I mean I'm on like page 50 :) so I'll get back to you on this! These books came out in the 80's so maybe alot here wouldn't be familier with them. He does have newer books out but like I say, These are all new to me.

They're awesome. Mind-blowing.

Very deep.

I've read all five in the first series, and it all didn't come together for me until the very last book - which wasn't intended to be written. After he did the first four, they asked him to write another - he did, and it fits in perfectly.

Thanks Jaro! As I get into this book I can see why he is a noted writer! I love to start at the beginning of an author's career and follow through!:) These are not books for children as his stories involve complex human responces, But anyone can get a grip on his stories, if you take the time...
