So... my brother is obsessing over this movie.
He says it's an older movie, from the 60s or 70s
He keeps saying it's a French movie
He says it's like a Forrest Gump kind of movie, where this guy who's like a butler or waiter keeps advancing in social status through situations involving dumb luck as opposed to cleverness or skill.
He thinks the title was something like "The King's Last Servant" or "The King's Apprentice" or "The Emperor's Apprentice".
He says he watched it on one of those old-movie channels on TV a couple of years ago.
Does this ring any bells with anyone? He can't give me anything like a major plot point or a specific date or character names or actors/actresses, so I'm not sure how to search for it.
