Wonderland and Oz
The two most widely known worlds of fantasy yet. I'm curious to see what you guys think that makes them so popular. Is it the characters, the most unlikely possibilites, the strange, beautiful, crazy, and sometimes dangerous settings? So far they have outdone every other fantasy in sheer being famous.

Well, Carroll and Baum are two authors I'd recommend to anyone at as early an age as they can digest the material.
I personally find Wonderland and Oz to be so immersive because I got into them at a very early age. The books are fairly easy reads, yet delve into a wide scope of imagination that can be said to be about as original as you can get. They are a symbol of just how fantastic fantasy can get.
And although I hate to admit it, I think selling the books through the movies played a large role in popularizing these two worlds...

although I share your opinion, there are those who would be... less than happy... to hear it called a fantasy book.

The Bible is not fiction!!!!! (gee what religion do I belong to . . .) There is proof that there was a Jesus Christ, the debate is over whether He is God. Note I said "is".
