Dol Guldor

In the new hobbit movie there is supposed to be a big scene of Gandalf and his travels to Dol Guldor and moves outs sauron. I havent made it to the Appendices, but where would I find his accounts of going to Dol Guldor?

I don't recall whether it is explained in any great detail, at least not as a narrative. Most of the Dol Guldur mentions are in The Council of Elrond in Fellowship.

Appendices or Unfinished Tales are probably good places to look for more little details, but as I said I don't recall any one narrative story about the overthrow of Sauron at Dol Guldur. PJ has free rein to show it however he likes. :eek:

I also believe it's only mentioned in passing. Unfinished Tales tells a bit more about the meetings of The White Council, which decided to attack Sauron at Dol Guldur - but I haven't seen any narrative detailing what happened.
