This is the discussion thread for my latest story, featuring several members of the Teacup Cafe:). I hope everyone enjoyed it!:D

*is still laughing*
Bunicula would never do that though :p

hectorberlioz
07-14-2008, 02:12 PM
Of course he would!

Mari
07-14-2008, 02:25 PM
That's just your imagination. He wouldn't. We have an agreement.

I think he would. Bunnies like shinney objects; or, at least all mine did. Hey, perhaps he heard you saying you wanted it, so he stole it to give it to you?

I enjoyed it. But I want to be clipping the verge under the window...ala Sam. ;)

hectorberlioz

:D I'll make sure you do that in the next one. :)

Any favorite parts in particulaire?

Mari

Sane, that makes sense! *goes to pet Bunicula for being so sweet and thinking of her*

The last sane person

And encourage him in theiving from friends and biting customers to take what is not his and give it to you; thus implicating you as an accomplise to his crimes?

I'm not sure you want to encourage that, Mari.

I liked it Hector! Very good indeed!

Mari
07-14-2008, 04:19 PM
Well no. I will pet him and explain why it is wrong and that he can't do it again. Duh. ;)

HAHA! That was funny, Hector. A troublemaker, hm? My boss tels me that all the time :D

I liked it. Good job

Hehe, well I guess I got that part right without tying :p

Thanks Acally, glad you liked it :). I'm working on the next mystery.

I was impressed. I would not be surprised if I reacted just the way you wrote me reacting to such a situation.

Anyone care to explain in short what's the beef with Bunicula? I think I might just side with hector on this one... I don't like bunnies anyway (rabbits, however, do not bother me in the least), especially those with bloodshot eyes and fangs.

I think I shall go over to the Teacup and search for trap doors. It will be my secret search. Maybe I'll find one and hide secret things in there from people. The things probably won't be dangerous or of a gross nature, though. I'll have to be creative with what I hide.

Heh, Bunnicula strangely enough, was a thing of Hector's own invention. He posted a photoshopped picture of a white rabbit with fangs, and then set it loose in the Teacup. He then made it turn on him, for some reason, then before anything could be done Mari scooped it up and turned it into her pet.

He's (Hector) been putting up a fuss ever since. I think he'd rather it have been himself that Mari coddled and snuggled up to, not the rabbit. (Whom I named Bunnicula)

Midge
07-21-2008, 11:33 PM
All I know about "Bunnicula" is that it is a book about which I remember nothing.

That's pretty funny that Mari made an evil-looking bunny her pet. I always pictured her with the big-eyed fluffy things... not fanged!

The last sane person
07-21-2008, 11:35 PM
But it is fluffy and cute looking; until it opens its mouth.

But yeah, Bunnicula was the rabbit that was a vegetable vampire. It could only drain the juice out of veggies or something of the sort.

Mari

Oh my... Midge... you haven't met Aeran yet?
He is my (pet)sabertooth tiger... He is very sweet and won't hurt anyone (unless you stand on his tail or hurt me) and you can usually find him lounging over by the fire. He makes a great pillow. I had Aeran before I saved Bunicula from Hector's evil ploys.

By the way, Hector... where is the next installment? We're waiting! *taps foot impatiently* ;)

Midge
07-22-2008, 08:11 AM
I think I've heard you mention him once or twice. Not sure I knew he was a sabertooth tiger.

Acalewia
07-22-2008, 09:18 PM
He scared the crap out of Anicetos when he roared in one of the Cafes (don't remember which one) Had to pull him off the ceiling fan. :D

The last sane person
07-23-2008, 04:31 PM
And then there is my Leroy (the liger who ran the security for the Teacup), who also hangs around with Aeran, and my Obnavat, the chocolate loving dragon who also used to be in the teacup.

Dunno where they went though... At least Leroy is back and hangs with me by the fire. Obnavat is...dunno actually... Oh well.

So Hec, when is the next one up and running? These are proving to be fun!

I am working at it tonight, as I did yesterday night. I've gone the plans for Chapter 1 down pat, and plans for chapter 2 as well. Be patient, my duckies:p

1) I have no patience
2) I'm not a duck
3) *drums fingers impatiently on the table*
4) :p

Just want to say that work on the new mystery is finally shaping up very well. I had to toss out some old ideas in order for me to free up my mind for the better ideas. Took awhile. The story is now about half-way finished. It's going to be a bit longer...

Mari
07-28-2008, 01:42 AM
That's okay. We'll wait. *impatiently taps with her foot on the floor* :p

Midge
08-14-2008, 03:49 PM
Hey, Hector... make sure the new batch isn't burning, okay?

None of us wants to eat burnt brownies... neither is burnt fiction fun to read! :D:p

hectorberlioz

The new mystery is up! :) You'll be grateful to know that in the process of writing ONE mystery, I ended up writing two! :D This next one needs some editing, since I took the idea for it from the one I just posted. But it is about 80% done nevertheless. Enjoy!

PS: Yes, more characters appear in this next one. But I have to sacrifice some characters in order to write about others. Juggling too many characters leads to too many different story threads. Which is a good thing if you want to develop different storylines. It can be a bad thing if you are trying to tie a story together and give it a good conclusion ;).

I'll just say that the next one has Sane and Gwai in it...

Midge
12-16-2008, 12:10 AM
Hmm.. the new story...

Hhhmmm... *holds chin in cupped hand to appear thoughtful*

You confused the heck out of me when you said that we got to 3,461 cookies, but we only needed 3000!

Other than that, I quite liked it. I wish I could have heard more of Acally's story. It was hard to remember that she really wasn't drunk, just extraordinarily sleepy.

And I think you got it backwards. I would have been the one falling asleep while others around me kept going. Haha.

All in all, I give it two thumbs ... no, wait.. hold on, I'll go steal my brother's thumb and give it a quick three thumbs up before he kicks me for pulling on his hand so hard.

The last sane person
12-16-2008, 12:32 AM
I, too, noticed the up and down cookie count.

You said they only needed 3000 even, but by the time they were done, they had made 3,461. And then Mari freaked out and said that the 3,461 that they had made was not enough....

That and in the 8th paragraph is "drawer" not "drawar"

I like it though! It sounds like this had happened right after the Teacup War... MAN, that was a fun cafe...ah, the memories.

hectorberlioz
12-16-2008, 01:41 AM
No, you only needed 1, 461 more cookies ;). You needed 3,000 in all. That means you had baked more than half already.

Drawar. Thanks for pointing that out. I missed it in my read-through.

The last sane person
12-16-2008, 01:49 AM
Then edit out where midge gives the current cookie count "We're now at 3,461," Midge said

Because it contradicts sharply with "When the cookie count finally reached 3,000 Midge was quite exhausted herself."

hectorberlioz
12-16-2008, 02:00 AM
I fixed it, I fixed it :p. I also fixed drawar.

Earniel

Yes Mirkwood had made peace with Fangorn, but that didn't mean that Fangorn wasn't up to its old tricks. They had spies in every part of Fangorn. Heck, one Entmooter had recently discovered a Mirkwood spy under his bed!
Not sure whether this is exactly what you meant it to be.

Just goes to show that if you start with the title, you don't necessarily end up with a good story. ALWAYS come up with the story title after the story is written ;).
Or use a working title. :p

hectorberlioz
12-16-2008, 11:29 AM
Yipes! A mistake that bad?

Mari
12-16-2008, 02:46 PM
Nice one Hector! MORE!!! :D

The last sane person
12-16-2008, 02:46 PM
Thanks Earniel, beat me to the punch on that one! I had lost the place where it was and wasn't sure if it was just my imagination.

So, is the part two story going to be related to this one? Because this doesn't have the same "Aha! We caught the bad guys, mystery solved, we win" thing as the last teacup mystery, because the elves got the cookie recipe, we are in the dark and they are going to go sell it.

hectorberlioz
12-16-2008, 02:59 PM
I'm not telling anyone jack squat about this next one. I already gave away too much...

Acalewia
12-29-2008, 01:22 PM
Hector, were you spying on me at work? I actually did that at work the week before Christmas. (Walking drunkenly, not cookie baking).

I seem to lose a lot of stuff. LOL.

Good stuff, Hector.

Midge

HECTOR! It's bad politics to leave your public hanging for a year and a half on a story like this!!!

Also: Some editorials on Teacup Mystery 1 -

Her mind wandered from the job at hand, and she began to mindlessly scrub the bar counter. She didn't notice that a few customers, desperate to get in from the morning's chill, had barged inside uninvited.
She glared icicles at me, which wasn't so bad considering the warm weather.

These seem a bit incongruous.

"Hector watch out!" Suddenly the Bunicula sprang from his perch, launching himself at the back of Hector neck.

I think you mean "... launching himself at the back of Hector's neck."

The last sane person
04-21-2010, 05:12 PM
So it does, but the glaring icicles was pretty funny.

You should be an author and write a couple of random novels:D
I'd read them:D
