Most of us already hate them, or at least don't like them very much. Those TV shows like Dr. Phil, Montel, and various others.

I have several objections

1) If the problems of the people aren't real (or are they real?), then why should we watch them? And even if they were real problems, why would we WANT to watch them?

In both cases, IMO, it isn't worth watching.

2) They're boring shows and they last AGES

Has anyone ever been stuck in their sister's apartment with nothing to do? Well I have. And there are two things in the middle of the day. Soaps and Talk Shows. *YAWN*

3) They're useless in TV format.

What TV talk shows attempt to do works far better in radio format, where you can get rid of the glitz, the stupid facial expressions, and (hopefully) the studio audience.

That's why I prefer news on the radio. That's why I prefer talk shows on the radio. You cut out all the goop.

So the point of this thread is...?
By the way: don't those talk shows have huge broadcast numbers? I mean that there are many people actually watching?
They even broadcast Dr. Phil, Elle de-whatever and Oprah here.

Ellen Degenerate:), yeah.

The point of this thread is: who sympathises with me?:p

PS: I gotta check the popularity numbers of those folks....

Yeah you ought to ^_^
But I do sympathize with you, I think.
I dunno, sometimes on Oprah there are subjects that I really didn't know about. It raises awareness. And it's nice background noise when you are cooking with your mum ;)
Dr. Phil is just not my thing though.
