Just came across this strip:

Thought it might be appreciated here. As someone who has been known to roll a d20 in years gone by, I was wetting myself.

Hmmmm, interesting and some entertaining....isn't that what exactly happened at helms deep. Except for pulling up the ladder bit.

I loved this:

"Being a turn-based game, D&D allows the player to ponder their every move and the ramifications thereof for as long as they need to, provided they have the real-life charisima to convince everyone else to wait. Studying possible moves is one of the most fun parts of the game (when you’re doing it) but also one of the most annoying and tiresome (when other people are doing it) and so care must be taken by the DM to ensure that in-game combat does not produce actual, real-life combat. "

:D :D

This was funny, too - and true!

"Players tend to treat horses like motorcycles: They are vehicles which can go anywhere you can walk, will never wander off, have no fear, feel no pain, and can travel at top speed for as long as you like.

And if you think players abuse the rules surrounding backpacks, just wait until they get their hands on the greatest of all interdimensional containers, saddlebags."

I was just saying on another board that all RPG people like to have stallions, but don't realize that stallions generally hate other stallions and it isn't practical for everyone in the group to have stallions!

And the skulls one -

Aragorn: "I'm not calling the device into question. I"m questioning the payload. Thousands and thousands of skulls? How does that work exactly? Was this a race of floating heads?"

Legolas: "Maybe they have another trap which just drops arms and legs."

Yes - I wandered around in there for awhile. Pretty funny. :p

Yep, read this thing a while back, and loved it.

Aragorn (to Legolas): I've seen your character sheet, and I'm positive you're an elven hottie.

This was a fun read. The part about saddle bags and carrying around gear was a riot.

Below is a fair comment in my opinion. (& funny to boot.)

To be fair, I think Gimli is pointing out a problem with the original work: How did all those orcs get enough food to live? I’m having trouble picturing an orcish farm, much less orcs producing all the accoutrements needed to run one. Both the book and the movie depict orcs with their own bread. Can you imagine an orcish miller? An orcish milkmaid? An orcish baker, complete with apron and poofy chef’s hat? Imagine a couple of orcs side-by-side in front of a farm American Gothic style.

Kind of daft, innit?

The best part was when the RPG leader or whatever it's called was going to read up how the orc died after Aragorn had slashed it, reading up the same kind of kill that Aragorn has heard a hundred times:rolleyes: Made me laugh for real:p

I oughta reread this...but truly hilarious. I've shown it to a few friends. I think one that really got me was the "I rolled a 1 on my diplomacy check" by Gimli.
