As you all probably know, tomorrow, September 22, is Bilbo and Frodo's birthday!
My D&D group (we're all in our late 30s, geeky and LOVING it!) has been sent the following message for our Hobbit birthday celebration session (on the 22nd, of course).
" In remembrance and celebration of both Bilbo and Frodo's birthdays, I would ask that each of you choose and present a 'gift', if you will, for the Big Party. It can be a passage that you read aloud from one of Tolkien's books. You could sing a song or play a piece of music that reminds/inspires/etc. of our Most Esteemed Hobbits. You could paint a picture, come in costume, dance a Hobbit jig-it's up to you. Simply do something and we'll all be in the same, somewhat embarrassed, boat.
As I mentioned before, we're going to fire up John's record player (I hope it works) and play some Hobbit albums. I'm also planning a couple of other activities including a 'riddle contest'. If any of you have some riddles laying about, bring them along. There might even be some prizes!"
Sooooooooooooo, what are YOU doing in celebration?
